I love luxury designer shoes, browsing and buying. My favorite designer is Christian Louboutin, and I'm an owner of two pairs of his shoes. For a while I imagined I would only want to buy Louboutin, but I knew it was only a matter of time before my interest in owning beautiful expensive shoes would expand.

I got these pair of Miu Miu heels online from Saks Fifth Avenue, and they were an absolute steal. I happened to browse the website when they had a "Up to 70% off designer sale" going on. Naturally, I looked for Louboutins but found none, however I realized I couldn't walk away without purchasing something. The prices were knockout! There were Jimmy Choo's, Prada, Saint Laurent, all beautiful and all staring me in the face with incredibly low prices.

The Miu Miu's caught my eye not only for the price but for the bright and colorful red, blue and white wavy striped design. They are bold yet could go with many outfits. I trusted the site saying that they were true to size, and made the purchase. Regularly, these shoes, who are a member of the Prada house, were $760 CDN, but I got them for roughly $250, and with taxes and duty (shipping was free), they came in total to about $360 CDN - still less than half price.

I think I figured out how I'm going to be able to manage my shoe addiction - check out Saks when they have a sale on!

The Miu Miu's are bright and colorful, made from soft leather, with a wavy red, blue and white striped pattern, a pointed toe, with a slingback design and an 85mm heel. Not too tall, not too short, these shoes are unique and bold, and definitely catch someone's eye. They could also go with a variety of outfits, whether with a blue, red or white dress or a simple pair of blue jeans and a white t-shirt. They can spice up a more casual look or add to a glamorous outfit.

As Saks Fifth Avenue advertised, these shoes run true to size with the US to EU sizing conversion. For me I'm a size 8 and fit a size 38 perfectly. I knew I was taking a gamble buying a new brand of shoes online without trying them on, but I'm glad to say that now I know I can do this safely. The slight give on the slingback heel offers a few mm give or take with the size of your foot. The shoes, however, are rather narrow. So if you are like me and have narrow to regular width feet, you should be fine.

I was actually surprised with how comfortable these shoes are when I put them on. Despite the severe pointed toe, which I usually have trouble with as far as pinching goes, there was enough room to allow my toes to have some space. The soft leather is amazingly comfortable and I imagine will only improve with wear. The 85mm heel is not too tall, so I could definitely be comfortable going out with these on for a few hours. The comfort level alone of Miu Miu's is definitely an influence to return to this designer again for another pair.

These shoes are sturdy and well-balanced on the heel, and overall seem quite durable for a night out (although you wouldn't want to go crazy with designer heels on, I hope). My only concern would be to be careful not to scuff up the leather as it may damage the striped design.

I recommend giving Miu Miu a try!

Overall I was very much impressed by the shoes. They are beautiful and comfortable, and given that occasionally they are put on sale, a wonderful addition to one's shoe collection. I've found another favorite aside from Louboutins!

I have that similar issue where my nearest city doesn't sell high-end designer, either. The only mid-range brand I own and can recommend are shoes by Steve Madden. I own a pair of blue platform pumps which fall under his Madden Girl brand and they are wonderfully comfortable and not too expensive, either. I've heard good things about Stuart Weitzmann, I've admired his designs and they usuall fall anywhere between the $150-300 range. Also, shoes by Kate Spade are on a lower price level and she has some wonderfully unique designs. Good luck!

Interesting information. I sell various things on eBay, including shoes. I am always on the lookout for popular designer brands. I do not live in a large city where you can buy top designer shoes. The best shoes I have found while thrifting were a pair of Alexander McQueens. What mid-range brands would you recommend I look for? Thanks. Voted up.
