Scented Crystals

I have found some of the coolest things that I have not showed. The little, purple balls in the picture above are actually scented. They have a very strong scent. What is cool about these is that they are very bouncy, slippery, wet gelatin-like balls that are also an air freshener at the same time.

When I was a little kid, there were these packages that held what looked like little pieces of broken glass or plastic. I asked one day what they were and I had the privilege to see these small crystal-like objects puffing up into a mixture like smooshed up gelatin. I was fascinated by the color and how all of the water had disappeared as they grew.

These gelatin balls, or air fresheners, come in two known scents and colors sold at local Dollar stores. They are very cheap to buy and are fun to mess with if you don't mind getting your hands a little wet. By the way after playing with them your hands smell like the scent on the label. I believe there is a Fresh Linen scent (which are blue colored beads) and a Lavender Chamomile scent (purple colored beads).

These air fresheners tend to last approximately one month. I love the ones that you are able to grow on your own like on the new Orbeez commercial!! I don't know if those are scented though. Oh... I just looked at the bottom of the container and they appear to be melting into a liquid. I think it is the room temperature.
