Sea Salt: A Remedy To Cure All Ills

The French call it Fleur de Mer, the flower of the sea, and with reason. Salt is a unique natural phenomenon.The value of sea salt is immeasurable. The mysterious salt crystals used to be attributed some marvellous properties in ancient times. In many cultures salt played a magical role, was used as a currency and was the reason for many political conflicts. At certain times, sea salt was not only considered precious but also sacred. Homer called it "divine" in "Odyssey". Nevertheless, sea salt is one of the most widespread things in this world.
As far as our health is concerned, salt is of great importance. It is present in the blood. A lot of bodily functions cannot take place without its presence.Salt contains agents that contribute to cell nourishment and cleansing regulation. These agents also form cells' membrane, help blood coagulate and regulate hormones' exchange. It is the natural sea salt that is the most beneficial.
How Natural Sea Salt is Obtained
Natural sea salt is obtained by evaporation from usual sea water and it is harvested manually, once a year - in summer time. The harvested salt is then processed. It is washed, dried and crushed in order to obtain grains of different sizes. This technology helps to preserve active agents contained in sea salt.
Ways of Using Sea Salt
Natural sea salt, apart from cooking, can be used in many different ways. It can help to cure a running nose and a sore throat, relieve stress, fight cellulite, improve your skin and cure joints. So, how can you reap benefits from sea salt?
Treating a Running Nose and a Sore Throat
When you have a running nose or when you feel the cold begin, and your nose and throat get dry and hurt, rinse them with a special solution, one teaspoon per glass of water. When your nostrils are empty, take a syringe or a teapot with a narrow spout, press one nostril with a finger while pouring the liquid in the other nostril. Tilt your head slightly. If you do everything correctly, the water will penetrate your nasopharynx and will pour out of the other nostril.
Sea salt can be also used to rinse your sore throat. Put a spoon of sea salt in a glass of warm water, mix thoroughly, take big sips and rinse your throat well, then spit out the water.
Sea salt relaxes muscles and calms down the nerves in a very good way. Take half a kilo of coarse sea salt and put it in a warm bathtub, then lie in it during 15-20 minutes. You can add several drops of essential oils: lavender, melissa, camomile, jasmin. Take a bath once in two days. You usually need to take 10 to 12 baths.
Take coarse sea salt made of small or middle size grains and mix it with shower gel, then rub it over your skin with massaging movements. You can add geranium or grapefruit oil to this mixture. Then wash the gel away with warm water and put on a dressing gown. Wrap yourself in a blanket and stay so for a while.
Curing Skin and Joints
It is recommended to use big grain sea salt as addition to your bath when you have skin problems: psoriasis, eczema, neurodermatitis and so on. Besides this it can be used as a therapy for illnesses of joints, rheumatism, osteochondrosis.
Adding Sea Salt to Your Ratio
It is often said that salt is harmful for blood pressure. It is true for table salt. When it comes to sea salt, it's another pair of shoes: sea salt actually improves the functioning of the thyroid gland, which is important when it comes to the present ecological situation. It also activates digestion, normalizes blood pressure, regulates water balance, participates in cells' building, fortifies immune system. Aren't there enough reasons to replace table salt with natural sea salt?
