Craziest Hair Styles in Sports

$1,000,000 Worth of Hair

Troy Polamalu Has Crazy Hair

I'm a big fan of the football skills of the strong safety for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Troy Polomalu. This man is a beast on the football field. He is so quick and aggressive. He's a perennial All-Pro player on the field and won a least two Super Bowls (maybe more) with the Steelers. One thing is for sure, this guy has got some crazy hair. Supposedly it is insured for $1,000,000. Troy also has some shampoo commercials that he is very funny in where he gets to show off his hair. I believe that he has long hair because he is a native Samoan and long hair has important significance to this particular ethnic groups beliefs and way of life, though I'm not exactly sure what that is. There are some other Samoans in the NFL and you may notice sometime that they too have long hair. I found a video on Youtube of when Larry Johnson tackled Troy by grabbing his hair when he was running back an interception. Ouch, that had to hurt.

Scott Pollard

Former NBA forward Scott Pollard had a respectable career in the NBA and was with five different teams. Those teams were in order Pistons, Kings, Pacers, Cavaliers, and then the Celtics. He was a first round draft pick by the Detroit Pistons out of the University of Kansas. Despite his basketball skills, what Pollard became most well known for was his bizarre hair styles. While playing for the Sacramento Kings he used to have a pony tail out the top of his head which lead to his nickname there of "The Sacramento Samurai" . Pollard just seemed to be a weird dude. Anyway, he makes my list for craziest hair styles in sports.

Andrew Bynum

Former Los Angeles Laker center Andrew Bynum has spent all his time on the bench for his new team the Philadelphia 76ers. He has a bad knee that has been requiring injections. So while the Philadelphia fans wonder if he is ever going to be productive for them, he seems to have had some time to try out a few new hair styles in his spare time. I am not sure what look Andrew is trying to achieve here but I am not convinced that it is a good look for him. What do you think?

Serena Williams

Serena Williams is a super talented female tennis professional. Certainly, she is one of the best in the world. Serena and her sister, Venus, have been at the top of the women's tennis game for a number of years now. Recently, Serena has had a hard time playing tennis in windy conditions due to her crazy hair blowing across her face. She makes a whole lot of money playing tennis so I think she better get a handle on this hair do of hers. Her pocket book and bank account could take a big hit if she doesn't do something quickly.

Adam Morrison has his own Crazy Style

Adam Morrson

Current Los Angeles Lakers bench player Adam Morrison has always seemed to have a bad hair do. He looks like he needs a hair cut. His hair has the look of a 1970's throwback. Perhaps, Morrison is dazed and confused? He had serious basketball ability when he was drafted by Michael Jordan and the Charlotte Bobcats out of the Gonzaga a few years back but never came through for someone drafted as high as he was. I don't know all the details but I think he was pretty much a flop, Now he has caught on with the Lakers. Heck, a job riding the bench in the NBA is still a great gig. Adam, maybe if you went to a fancy pants hair stylist out there in LA they could do something for you to look a little more hip, Maybe it would even help your game a bit? I bet Kobe Bryant and Dwight Howard could use the help if they are to challenge the Oklahoma City Thunder this year in the Western Conference.
