Skagen women's stainless steel watch 233xsss

Updated on March 26, 2012

Skagen Designs is the realization of the dream of a couple from Denmark who migrated to the United States in 1989, Henrik and Charlotte Jorst.  Their one ultimate goal was to own a business that would mirror the Danish philosophy and lifestyle by creating and selling beautiful premium items at reasonable prices. Their collection of Skagen watches, sunglasses and jewelry showcases the creativity of the Danish with simple but elegant designs, exquisite craftsmanship and technical excellence. The small fishing village of Skagen, Denmark with miles of white sandy beaches have been the inspiration of many artists whose works of art have found their way to leading art and auction houses.

The Skagen Women’s Stainless Steel Watch 233XSSS is a thing of beauty in silver.  It sports the signature Skagen mesh band in silver that connect to the slim 24 millimeters stainless steel case topped with a shiny polished bezel.   The case is flat and thin at 7.25 millimeters and the watch is extremely lightweight.  It has a curved super hardened mineral crystal that is scratch-resistant covering a genuine white mother of pearl dial.  The dial is not just plain white but because it is mother of pearl, it has a deep and multi-colored shimmery hue in changing lights. This mid-sized analog watch with Arabic 3, 6, 9 and 12 hour markers and stainless steel stick indicators on the other hours plus baton hands.

The mesh band is 100% solid stainless steel and is hypo-allergenic which is advisable for wearers with sensitive skin. Because it is mesh, it is extremely flexible and comfortable to your wrist. Band width is 14mm tapering to 12mm with a fold-over safety clasp which holds the mesh band together and assures that the watch is safely held in place without the danger of falling off. It is easily adjustable by just unlocking the clasp, moving it to how tight you want the bracelet to be and then locking it back into place. You can make adjustments yourself and not have to take it to the jewelers. Some users have complained though that the pin that holds the band to the watch easily falls out and the watch falls down if you won’t notice it.

The Skagen Women’s Stainless Steel Watch 233XSSS has the same mesh bracelet as the DKNY watch NY4822 and NY4305.  If you want matching mens watch, there are Skagen watches for men that you can match with this although perhaps not with the same mother of pearl dial.  The style and design would be very similar to this watch though.

The precision Japanese Miyota movement and the quartz watch carry a limited lifetime warranty except strap, crystal and battery. Some online stores say that this watch is water resistant up to 3ATM or 330 feet while Skagen Designs say that it can only withstand 99 feet or the occasional splashes of water while washing your hands or splashes of rain.  Battery is expected to last for 3 years.

The Skagen Women’s Stainless Steel Watch 233XSSS is a beautiful design with the trademark Skagen clean lines and that touch of class and elegance shimmering in silver.
