Lisa Oswald began her jewelry enterprise in 1983 with twin sisters, Susie and Sandy. The name Sorrelli is adapted from the Italian word for sisters, "sorrelle". Lisa started with making beaded necklaces from the clay she dug from a stream bed near her home. The beads were baked in her mom's kitchen, and she sold her creations to her aunts.
