Spanx Bra-llelujah Gentle Bra For Gentlemen

Updated on May 13, 2010

Spanx is a favorite lingerie line amongst women because it concentrates largely on doing two things. One, being comfortable and two, being unobtrusive. The second of these traits make Spanx products perfect for men who like to wear lingerie in their daily lives, not to mention men who need the support of a brassiere.

The Spanx demi bra is designed to eliminate the dreaded 'back-fat' that occurs when a typical bra fits a little too snugly and creates tell tale lines and rolls of subcutaneous fat under clothing. Instead of having the typical reinforced line of clasps and hooks, the back of the Spanx demi bra is simply one smooth wide band that fits 'like a second skin.' This is perfect for women sick of having their bra show under clothing and it is perfect for men who wish to wear a bra without anybody knowing about it.

How does Spanx do it? By eliminating elastic. Elastic is the culprit in creating lines and fat rolls because it is designed to 'bite' into the skin a little to establish a firm hold. Instead of using elastic, Spanx uses straps that adjust to your shape. It's technology and innovation being used for their highest good, I think we all agree on that. The bra itself is made of microfiber, which is the perfect compromise between the comfort and wicking effects of cotton and the smooth touch of a synthetic fabric.

This bra closes in the front, which is a relatively rare closure in these days where back closures are common. The closure nestles discretely between the cups, out of the way where it will not cause any trouble or be noticed by prying eyes combing your clothing for hints of lingerie.

Of course the bra is also seamless, which means there are no seams to stick out under t-shirts. For men who wear lingerie especially, there is nothing worse than wearing a business shirt or t-shirt over a brassiere, forgetting about it, and stretching at work only to realize that twin seams just appeared mysteriously on your shirt front.

The bra comes in beige and black and I'm going to give my beige bashing a rest here because what beige does do well is stealthiness, and this brassiere isn't about being flashy, or pretty, or over the top. It's about being discrete, and comfortable and lovely. So lovely, in fact, that I have featured it on hewearspanties.com. If you'd like purchasing and technical details, they can be found there.
