Stylish Plus Size Tops From Amazon

Updated on January 14, 2016

Buy Plus Size Tops Online.

I am a plus-sized woman. I am also beautiful, love style and enjoy looking my best. I join thousands of of curvy women from everywhere who are demanding that we have clothes that are stylish and flattering for us. We want cute clothes!

Feeling beautiful with clothes that are flattering at our present weight is important for all women. As plus size women, we might feel like it's not worth it to dress our body as it is now. but often creates a desire to hide away from the world..

Join me in my search for stylish plus size tops on Amazon. I've had to wade through some of the chaff, in order to find those hidden gems.

Peasant Blouses

Peasant blouses offer a pretty, feminine silhouette. These type of blouses have traditionally been worn in the spring and have a bohemian flavour. These tops are flattering to many plus-sized women because they flow so beautifully. These tops are usually designed with a puffed sleeve and drape very nicely to the waist.

A peasant top can help to add a soft touch to an otherwise straight tailored outfit. Wear a peasant top with a pair of jeans, a nice pair of pants or straight skirt. You can also tuck a peasant blouse underneath a suit.

Just a caution for this style: a full skirt on the bottom may be too bulky for many full-sized women, and it will often be better to stick to a narrow silhouette on the bottom.

Two very attractive peasant top styles on Amazon are the Red Lace Chiffon Peasant Top and the 24/7 Plus Size Shirt Tail Peasant Blouse. These blouses are examples of the free-flowing, flirty style of the peasant blouse. They both also offer scrumptious looking detailing to make these tops so sweet for spring!

The Big Shirt

The big shirt can also be a style that is very beautiful for us curvier women. The key to choosing an attractive big shirt is to make it have softer lines and not boxy looking. These styled big shirts make you feel covered are lovely to throw on over a pair of jeans, dress pants or a skirt. The big shirt can be dressed up with lovely accessories or also work for a day in the house.

Big shirts can also be called "boyfriend shirts," because they kind of look the thing you might throw on, because they are reminiscent of something a woman might throw on from her man's closet.

Tunics

Tunics, in general, can be very good for any sized woman because it gently covers up the part we don't want to emphasize. For example, a tunic will simply flow a big stomach and gently swish around big hips. Tunics can be an excellent choice for the plus sized woman but they must be the right size to ensure they do look like tents!

Tunics can be paired with leggings, jeans, or a straight-legged pair of pants. These flowing tops look better with a narrow bottom and should not be worn with a flowing skirt. Try to keep flow-y things to one or the other: the top or the bottom of the outfit. A straight tailored skirt would work with a tunic as long it is long enough so that the skirt is not hidden underneath!

So here are some good-looking choices for tops for the plus-sized woman: plus-sized tops that are both stylish and cute. I hope you enjoyed checking out the fashions.

Short History of Tunics

Tunics were first worn by the peoples of Ancient Greece and Rome, both by men and women. In ancient Greece, tunics were decorated according to the city you were from.

These items continued to be made during the middle ages and were usually fashioned from linen or wool.

Tunics in our modern days have been worn mostly by priests but recently, there has been a surge in fashion re-discovering this ancient piece of clothing.

Gloria, it is such a lovely top, isn't it? Right now, those red tops are only available in a Size 22 or 24, which would be too big for you in a 5/6, but they also come in a white or black colour in the smaller sizes. Tunics are nice for the bigger bustlines because you don't have buttons that can potentially leave those gapes.

Thanks for stopping by. Take care.

Green Lotus, thanks so much for the comment! Yes, fashion sense is definitely the key. I agree with you about health being important. For sure! But I think being able to look good while getting to health actually helps a lot, too.

By the way, I made some of those customized dividers that you wrote about in your hub and they are on my other hub for plus sized tops. It was fun to do and they didn't turn out too badly for my first ones!

Lots of good advice for the plus sized woman! If you have fashion sense (or know how to apply good fashion advice) and most importantly you care about your appearance, plus size women can be strikingly beautiful. I do; however, feel that health is important too and there are healthy limits to being too overweight or too underweight.

Thanks so much for the comment, Princessa! You are so right: it helps a lot! I have appreciated all of your hubs on plus size clothing that you do, with so much helpful info.

The embellished tunic was my favourite, too! I am definitely thinking of getting it. Thanks again and take care.

The Embellished Tunic is beautiful and the colour very fattering. I agree that women should feel beautiful regardless of their size and despite what people might say, choosing the right clothes DO help a lot to feel good about yourself.
