3 Sizzling Summer Makeup Looks You Must Try!

For me, summer has always been a very ‘outdoorsy’ season. Maybe it’s because of the heat or the general enthusiasm evoked by the season, but staying indoors doesn’t really go hand in hand with summer. For me, summer is about travelling, visiting, shopping, exploring and also about lots and lots of swimming! Since I do tend to spend a lot of time outdoors, I like to keep my makeup simple and manageable. But, at the same time, I don’t like giving up on style. Here are a couple of trendy summer makeup looks that I’ve tried in the past. These looks are easy to achieve, yet, do not compromise on style. They require minimal makeup and give you a fresh, lively, summery look.

The bronzed look:

Although a natural tan is much desired, it’s not very healthy for your skin. So, take the help of makeup to get that beautiful sun-kissed look without actually having to spend hours in the hot sun. The bronzed look works well on medium skin tones. It has an understated feel, making it a great look for shopping trips, lunches, brunches and casual strolls.

To get this look, start by applying concealer to cover up spots, dark circles and marks. This will give you an even, flawless complexion. Now, apply some liquid bronzer to your cheekbones, forehead and a bit on your nose bridge. Apply some bronzer on your neck as well so that your makeup looks natural. For a day look, highlight your eyes with mascara and a line of eyeliner. Color your lips with a nude, bronze shade and apply a coat of clear gloss over it. For a night look, you can apply some golden eyeshadow on the entire lid for a hint of shimmer.

The peachy pink look:

If you’ve been blessed with a fair skin tone, this look is ideal for you. The peachy pink look has a fresh, feminine appeal. It brightens up your face, making you look perfect for this bustling, spirited season. This look too is great for day wear. It requires minimal makeup, so your face doesn’t look caked up or overdone.

To get this look, choose a rosy pink blush like the Fresh Coral shade from Maybelline’s Cheeky Glow Blush range. Dab some blush on the apples of your cheeks, brush some color onto your nose and eyelids as well. Avoid using any eyeshadow, but apply a visible line of eyeliner on your upper and lower lash lines. Opt for a waterproof, smudge-proof eyeliner so that you don’t have to deal with blurry lines and blotches due to sweat. The Kajal Magique Eye Kajal from L’Oreal Paris is a good product to try out. It delivers a deep black color and lasts up to 12 hours.

Color your lips with some pink-tinted lip balm, or you could apply a nude lipstick and cover it with a coat of colorless gloss. You can try out Maybelline’s Baby Lips Loves Color lip balm range as it offers some subtle, elegant shades. For a night look, go lighter on the blush, but draw attention to your lips by applying some hot pink lipstick. Maybelline’s Pink Alert lipstick range by Color Sensational has some trendy, attractive shades that really pack a punch!

The natural look with bright coral lipstick:

The natural look, also called the ‘raw’ or ‘barefaced beauty’ look, is a very popular summer makeup look. Although it is called the natural look, it doesn’t mean that no makeup is applied. This look requires you to use makeup in such a way that your skin looks healthy, well-conditioned and flawless. Apply concealers, eye creams and brow gels to even out skin tone and cover up spots and blemishes. Highlight eyes with an eyeliner and some mascara. You can try the winged eyeliner look for extra style. Now, emphasize your lips by applying on some bright coral lipstick.
