Teva - A Buyers Guide

Updated on May 9, 2012

Teva is a brand that provides high performance, comfortable and stylish footwear which is made to last. Each shoe in the collection include Teva Innovative Design Elements (TIDE) such as Vibram which provides durable and versatile outsoles. Durbrasion rubber gives the wearer a solid balance of performance and durability and an eVent membrane keeps water out and wicks sweat away from your feet. In 1984 the first ever sports sandal was created by a young Grand Canyon river guider. Teva products aim to enable and encourage your adventure and their passion lies with water and identifying and enhancing the areas in which water affects an adventure. Teva understand that everyone loves to play in water but they also need to be protected.

Due to Teva sponsoring Santa Barbara Zoo Teva were able to create a soft boot for a penguin with a harmed foot. Therefore not only does the brand support athletes they are also able to help animals. Teva technology has been able to help athletes such as Wakeskaters who previously rode in soggy shoes for years. Styles such as the Gnarkosi have been designed in collaboration with professional wakeskaters. The Gnarkosi includes features such amazing water performance qualities using technologies such as Drain Frame. This consists of perforations in the toe and heel which drain water like a sieve. Spider Original rubber on a flat outsole design boasts incredible grip suitable for the world’s best wakeskaters.

Teva also has a collection of trail footwear. They believe old styles of trail shoes are dated so they have created a line of footwear that is lighter, sleeker and more agile than the traditional boot. Styles such as the Forge Pro Mid eVent have been built on a versatile MXT platform and have an extremely breathable eVent waterproof membrane.

Collections have also been designed for adventurous travellers due to the fact they understand the feeling of overweight baggage and running out of space in your hand luggage. To tackle this they have created a collection that is super-light but easily packable. An example from this line is the Mush Frio Lace Canvas. This trainer brings all of things you love about airy, breathable flip flops together to form a trainer shoe. The Mush Frio uses Mush technology which is light weight and can be worn all year round.

Finally, Teva cater for biking athletes with their range of footwear that provides maximum performance with maximum style. The Links shoe has been designed in collaboration with freeride mountain biker Jeff Lensoky and feature a flexible armour across the forefoot. Ion-mask technology prevents the materials on the Links from absorbing water so athletes can continue to bike no matter what the weather.
