The Secret To Success When Shopping For Women's Clothes For Men – A Woman!

When you're a man who wears women's clothing and you decide to actually pursue your desires, you don't realize what a fashion minefield you are walking into. Women are trained from a young age to navigate the streams, mountains and valleys of fashion, whilst men are often left at home to hit each other with sticks. Thus, as a grown man attempting to enter the world of female fashion, it is easy to get lost, stumble into a crevasse and emerge days later with broken heels and a handbag that most certainly doesn't match.

Like Edmund Hilary had Sherpa Tenzing, if you want to experience great success first time when you shop for woman's clothing, it is wise to take a guide.

Many women are 'fashion first,' meaning that they love clothes and will happily share tips with anyone who will listen. If you're a man who wants to wear women's clothing of any kind, you'll be surprised at how helpful the women around you can really be. They don't have to know that you want to wear women's clothing yourself to start going on about sales here, or great dresses there. If you see a woman wearing something you like, don't feel too strange asking her about where she got it. For many women, the sense of pride at having completed a successful trip shopping for clothing is akin to what a caveman might have felt when hauling a bloody deer carcass home. If it is a new item, she'll be bursting to tell anyone just how cunning she was in catching it.

Women will let you know what looks good and what looks bad. If you're shopping with an understanding woman, then listen what she has to say. Usually she'll frame her statements in reference to the clothing. So, she won't say “You're too fat for that,” she'll instead say something like “That cut doesn't flatter you.” And it will be true. Women's clothing comes in a plethora of cuts and styles and some of them will suit you more than others. If you can find an open minded female friend to advise you, you'll not only get clothes that suit you, but ones that are in style. Which leads me to my next tip.

The one thing that does seem to be a theme with some cross dressers is that they wear clothing that women would actually never wear themselves. A great deal of the time cross dressing men will put together outfits that are a little too retro, a little too dowdy, or perhaps in an attempt to really lay claim to femininity, a little too scandalous. You don't need an active female participant to make use of the women around you for this one. All you need to do is pay attention to what women are wearing, then when you buy women's clothing, choose clothing of a similar style that appeals to you.

So whether it's a partner, wife, sibling, or friend, find women in your life who will give you a helping hand when it comes to choosing women's clothing, especially outerwear. No, you don't need anyone's approval when it comes to what clothing you wear, and you can most certainly wear what you want, but having a female who has already navigated the style jungle that is women's wear will make the whole process a lot easier, and undoubtedly, a lot more fun!

Sizing can be a difficult issue(here in America anyway). I love the way "women's" jeans fit and feel, but the sizes are ridiculous. I mean really!?! Do they have to drop the numbers down for the same size every year or so? Is that an evil ploy created by fashion gurus to make people feel like they are getting thinner or is it simply a shallow attempt to hide the fact that people are getting fluffier?

      Thank you again, Hope.

My wife is very helpful, particularly on sizing and fabric selection, which can be very confusing. It seems there has been a recent increase in the actual size as denoted by the numbers. Stretch fabrics in smaller sizes can help us get the feel we like.

Though, I have never found it hard to shop for lingerie I can agree that women know more about fashion that’s for sure and yes most guys who cross dress go to the extremes. That is why I just keep it simple and in moderation for the time and location. It is mostly unseen by anyone to even include my wife. I just prefer it that way. I do not need to showboat to feel sexy.
