Indian weddings are a big affair, this is quite certain nowadays. It is the most important celebration in every Indian’s life whether in the case of unknown people or Bollywood celebrities. However weddings cannot be done as everybody do, but the most important thing is to surprise both guests and fans, organizing something different that day after day becomes even more difficult.

It seems that everything has been done before and having an outstanding ceremony implies a lot of effort. Moreover there is something indispensable that will remain one of the Indian weddings’ pillars: the bridal dress.

Brides are demanding everyday more and most of all the range of choices they have in terms of colours, styles and types of dress has been enlarged significantly.

They can chose between anarkalis, sarees, lehengas, blue, red, pink, modern style, traditional style, etc. So in the middle of this confusion, the only way to come up with the perfect solution for them, is to decide which Indian bridal designer to choose and put themselves in the Designer’s hands.

The fame and prestige of Indian bridal designers indeed is increasing everyday more: their voices are more important than the brides’ mothers.

Obviously also the market is becoming even more competitive, but there are always the outstanding ones which are on the top of the wave from more time than the others. From our point of view the most outstanding and beloved Indian bridal designers are: Sabyasachi Mukherjee, Tarun Tahiliani, Manish Malhotra, Ritu Kumar, Anita Dongre and Abu Jani- Sandeep Khosla.

Sabyasachi Mukherjee

His creations are sold under the label “Sabyasachi” and as himself told, they are 'Personalized imperfections of the human hand'. Indeed he took inspiration from all kinds of people from Kolkata, his native city. Every piece has a different style and texture and the techniques used are not common among Indian bridal designers. His collections recall medieval ages and are really appreciated by the public.

Ritu Kumar

She is “The Designer”. Ritu is the favourite choice not just for Bollywood celebrities, but for India in general. She is the first who has introduced the boutique concept in Indian fashion and is always well appreciated during her showcases. The classic and traditional style meets modern designs in her collection, making them attracting for both old and young people. Her bridal pieces are always rich in embroidery and the quality is obviously excellent.

Anita Dongre

She is the stylist for Modern women. Her philosophy is to create something that can be the extension of the client’s personality. Thus all her creations generally are elegant and simple, without too heavy embroidery or textiles. Chic is her keyword and people seem to really appreciate this kind of vision. Her quality is undeniable and this relatively (in confront to the previous ones) new Designer is conquering a great amount of fame.

Abu Jani- Sandeep Khosla

This label is the result of the union between designers Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla. The former is famous for his design dresses in well-known musical such as Evita. The second one is known around the world for his capacity to combine modern and traditional styles, playing with European silhouettes and Indian craftsmanship, using traditional techniques.
