Timex Men’s Easy Reader Brown Leather Watch T20041

Updated on March 26, 2012

Timex first started operations in 1854 as Waterbury Clock, making it over 150 years old. Timex has been known for quality watches with many lasting more than 10 years of use. They offer you variety, with over 400 different models and styles of both men’s and ladies watches for you to choose from, whatever your interest might be. Timex has a reputation for high quality and durability. It has retained this even while coming out with fashionable watches that are attuned to the latest trends. Timex watches range from the Timex Expedition which is suitable for the rugged sports and outdoorsy type with features that are most useful for the specific sports or activity that they are designed for such as altimeter and barometer for the mountaineers. Timex also makes the simple Timex Easy Reader, the basic watches with metal, nylon or leather watch bands. There are also fun and colorful watches, elegant dress watches and character watches for children.

The Timex Men’s Easy Reader brown leather watch T20041 has a 35mm stainless case, too bulky for some with small wrists but suitable for those who like bulky watches. Its white dial is covered with a mineral crystal. Although mineral crystals are not as scratch proof as sapphire coated or sapphire crystals, this face watch of Timex is pretty sturdy. This watch also sports a brown leather strap making it suitable for both outdoor or office use. The watch is rather narrow for those who do not like wide bands however, it is thick and stiff. Some find the watch bands uncomfortable and inflexible.

The Timex Men’s Easy Reader brown leather watch T20041 features the patented indiglo or electroluminescent lighting technology with its backlit features making the face very easy to read in the dark. Indiglo has a soft glow that is not harsh at all to the eyes especially when waking up at night and looking at the time. There is the convenience of a date and time display at 3 o’clock. Setting the day is rather tedious though. You have to turn the hands the whole 24 hours per day or two full rotations until you get to your desired day. But well, you only need to set it once unless there are months without 31 so you need to move it forward one day or you cross timelines several times so this is just a minor issue. It is water resistant up to 99 feet although it is safest to just limit water exposure to the occasional splashes when washing your hands or being out in the rain.

The Timex Men’s Easy Reader brown leather watch T20041 has a quartz movement.  The watch (excluding watch strap, battery and crystal carries a one year warranty against manufacturing defects. Battery life is expected to be 3 years.

The watch is easy to read, fashionable with a nice clean look and the classic design with a retro feel. It carries with it the Timex reputation of getting value for your money. You can never go wrong with going for the time tested brand of Timex.
