The Curology for Teeth Whitening?

I recently came across 'glowup.', a company that says they can create a personalized teeth whitening kit "tailored to your unique smile". I have used crest whitening strips in the past, but have always had trouble sticking with it because it was not only expensive, but my sensitive teeth would begin to hurt while using the strips. I've gone on to try out various whitening tooth pastes, mouth washes, and even tried brushing my teeth with powdered, activated charcoal. Needless to say, most things did not work very well and my pursuit for that glistening smile was put on a standstill. Thus, when I discovered glowup, I was a little skeptical; their deliverance of a personalized teeth whitening formula that would take into account the sensitivity of my teeth sounded too good to be true. Since they have a 100% money-back guarantee, I figured that I may as well give it a try!

Teeth Fact:

The natural color of our teeth is actually yellow. So without any whitening products, brushing your teeth alone, will not yield white teeth.

The Quiz

When you enter glowup's website (www.heyglowup.com) you can take the quiz that will determine the perfect teeth whitening formula for you! There are questions regarding the sensitivity of your teeth, the current color of your teeth, and the products you currently use for oral care. It was reassuring to see a question asking about my sensitivity to any teeth whitening products I have used in the past because that was my main concern with trying out new teeth whitening products.

After completing the quiz, I was presented with my personalized teeth whitening kit! On this page, they listed the ingredients that would be in my formula and explained what role each ingredient played in the whitening process. The cost was listed as $60, which I think is the biggest downside of glowup. This is a little bit more than I had paid for Crest whitening strips in the past. BUT, if this was a product that was going to solve my issues with sensitivity and give me a white smile, I was willing to pay the price.

Ingredients of my Personalized Formula

The Whitening Blend that I received contains:

.

Hydrogen Peroxide: "Main whitening ingredient that also eliminates oral bacteria."

.

Carboxymethylcellulose Sodium: "Protects against burning, irritiation, and discomfort."

.

Glycerol: "Naturally occuring chemical that maintains moisture."

.

Menthol: "Naturally derived from peppermint to provide a fresh, minty taste."

The Product

"glowup. is the only whitening product that is tailored to your unique smile. We take into account dozens of factors like your teeth’s sensitivity, brushing habits, and diet to create the most effective whitening formula for you."

In 2 days, I received my whitening kit in the mail in an iPhone-esque looking box. The The box included the following:

  • 1 Whitening Bluelight that connects to my iPhone, but comes with a USB-C and MicroUSB adapter
  • 3 Tubes of Whitening Gel (Good for 6 treatments)
  • 1 User Guide

The Routine

The user guide spells out the glowup routine as follows:

  1. Brush your teeth

  2. Apply 1/4 of a tube of whitening gel to each side of the light

  3. Plug the light into your phone

  4. Place the light in your mouth, push to power button, and wait 16 minutes for the treatment to complete

  5. Rinse off the light under warm water

It's a pretty simple process, but not going to lie, the 16 minutes does feel a little bit long. With that being said, the light does not get in the way of living out my life, so I was able to go about working on the computer and browsing my phone, while I waited.

The Results!

I am so happy to say that my teeth did not feel any pain throughout the entire teeth whitening process and I was able to see results after just one 16 minute treatment!

After my first treatment, I rinsed out my mouth and smiled in the mirror, and to my amazement, I could easily tell that my teeth were whiter!!! I changed the lighting around to make sure my eyes weren't playing tricks on me, but my teeth were actually whiter.

I feel more confident and feel really good about the way my teeth look!

Since then, I have done 1 more treatment and I am still having no problems with the sensitivity of my teeth! My teeth are looking whiter than ever before and, I must say, it feels really good!

The Verdict

I love the teeth whitening service that glowup provides and would recommend it to anyone who wants white teeth! Their algorithm for creating a teeth whitening formula that is personalized for every user has allowed me to get the great results I have always wanted, without the cost of hurting my sensitive teeth.

The Pros:

  • White teeth!

  • No pain during whitening!

  • Quick results!

  • No batteries needed for the teeth whitening light!

  • Cruelty-free and Vegan!

The Cons:

  • $60 base price, but I got mine for $48 with a discount code

  • The minty taste of the whitening gel is not the best

  • The kit only comes with enough whitening gel for 6 treatments

Feel free to ask me any and all questions!
