Victoria's Secret Pink

My Newest Guilty Pleasure

This week I have spent 4 out of 7 days shopping at Victoria's Secret!

Shocking, I know! My obsession started a month or two ago when my one BFF and I played a hookie day from work and went shopping. I bought a new bra and a pair of matching panties. Then about a month ago my other BFF and I went shopping and ended up at Victoria's Secret again, and another purchase was made. But I am frugal and so I only bought panties. I have had my eyes on the Pink sweatpant collection for a while, and when I realized I had a few extra dollars saved, my splurge this past week began.

A little history lesson. I'm a mom. An old mom. My oldest "baby" is now 18 years old. I used to be skinny. I used to wear naughty lingerie, Frederick's of Hollywood, Victoria's name it, if it had lace and was sexy, I was wearing it. Then sometime in 1993 when I became an expectant mom, my sexy undergarments were packed away and never seen again. My husband commented just today that he is wondering why all of a sudden I am buying sexy underwear again. He's definitely approving of this recent development, I might add.

I have recently shed a few extra pounds, and so my confidence level has risen a bit. I needed new undergarments and was actually excited that I fit into Victoria's Secret undies again. My oldest daughter has not helped the matter much because she often shops there for bras and scents. So armed with my extra cash and both of my daughters, to Victoria's Secret we all went. My son ran off to the other end of the mall to the arcade, too embarrassed at age 12 to be seen in the bra and panty store. The first purchase was panties because, well, we needed them. The next day my husband and I went in and I finally broke down and purchased the Pink boyfriend sweatpants and a matching hoodie. The next day after that, not to be outdone, my DD2 decided she needed bras so we went back for bras for her. Then DD1 bought this cute thin Pink brand hoodie (in black) that I so wanted. It actually fit me, but pink is my signature color so the next day I went back in and bought the thin Pink brand pink. Yesterday I didn't get to go in to shop (shocker....I know) but I did manage to discover that Pink Nation and Victoria Secret both have iPad apps, so I downloaded them and guess what?? I got a text from Pink Nation thanking me for joining and offering me a free panty with any Pink purchase! I told DD1 about it, so she downloaded the Pink Nation app on her iPod and got a text coupon too! So all day today she was excited about this coupon. So I finally said to her, "That free coupon is burning a hole in your pants!" Hysterical! So again, to the mall and to Victoria Secret we went, purchasing more panties, a Pink water bottle and Pink perfume.

I think I'm all shopped out at Victoria's Secret for now. But in the bottom of the bag, there was another coupon for September 11th for another free panty with purchase. I'll be saving up for that trip! And yes, that coupon is now burning a hole in my pants!
