Virtual Hairstyles

Updated on December 5, 2010

I love the internet. Yes, I admit it. I have a mini-addiction to all things 2.0. I also have a really intense love of hair and everything hairstyling. So when I find something that combines these two loves, I naturally want to spend all of my time on it. Well, I discovered something yesterday, and I thought I would write about it. Are you ready for this? Ok, here it goes:

You can go to the hair stylist without ever leaving home. You can actually have your hair styled from the comfort of your office chair.

The Virtual Makeover and Hairstyle studio allows me to upload a picture of myself and mix and match hairstyles before I ever go to my stylist. And coming from someone who has had her share of bad salon experiences, this is a valuable tool. I'll never again have to cross my fingers and hope for the best when I get to the salon. No more bad hacked up haircuts, carrot orange (I'm so not kidding, I was Carrot Top's little sister that day) dye jobs or ridiculously unnatural looking weaves.

Try it and see. You can change your haircolor, the length, the fullness. In my screenshot I went with the virtual model, but you can upload your own picture. I played around with this for hours, it's so much fun. I made my hair short and blonde, long and gray and then red and curly. It has all of the hot 2010 hairstyles that you can imagine. You can even steal celebrity looks like Rhianna, Tyra Banks and Jennifer Aniston.
