The report

The report, which did not identify patients or clinics that are operated on, said several of them had to be hospitalized, take antibiotics for months or undergo new surgery to treat the infection.
The research is started after two patients, that were operated in a same clinical Dominican, were treated by infection with Mycobacterium in a clinic in Maryland.
In total, there were 21 women affected by the same outbreak, after go to the Dominican Republic to undergo plastic surgery procedures such as liposuction and breastreduction or increase.

THE MOST OF THEM CASES

IN THE MOST OF THEM CASES, THE PATIENTS BEGAN TO SHOW SYMPTOMS AS FEVER, INFLAMMATION, PAIN AND SECRETIONS IN THE WOUND, UNTIL THREE WEEKS AFTER HAVE IS SUBJECT TO THE SURGERY PLASTIC.
However, in the most of them cases, the patients not were diagnosed with the infection but to near 3 months after the procedure to which is had submitted.
At least one of the clinics, in which 13 of the affected patients were treated was closed by the Dominican health authorities after the findings of the report.
In accordance with figures of the CDC, near 750,000 people in United States travel to others countries to perform is procedures medical, in what is known as tourism medical, in the most of them cases since is more economic that in United States.
The CDC recommends to learn about the procedure, the accreditation and experience of physicians and medical center before traveling.
Also, the authorities advise patients performed medical procedures abroad to obtain copy of all medical records before returning to the United States, should a complication arise
