Fashion Accessories Every Woman Should Own

Updated on December 28, 2017

Most women love a chic handbag, while others have a shoe obsession or enough jewelry to never wear the same piece twice! But how many women are actually putting their accessories to work?

Stylish women everywhere have their favorite wardrobe staples that are classic and worn repeatedly. Accessories change the look of these wardrobe staples by adding color, a theme or a new way to wear the outfit. These are some of the essential accessories that every woman should own in order to transform an ordinary outfit into an extraordinary one.

Handbags are considered to be a status symbol that expresses one's personality. We all have a personal style? Some like more structured pieces, some prefer to a more casual or sport wardrobe, while others want are attracted to the romantic boho style or vintage chic. Regardless of your preferences, just go for it, have fun with it and don’t worry so much about whether or not your handbag matches your attire. Small clutch bag is a great alternative to a handbag. A black leather clutch is perfect for a night out in the town, but the only downfall to it is you can’t exactly get a lot into them. A decent sized handbag on the other hand, can fit everything you need, plus it has the advantage of making your waist and arms appear smaller.

A Statement Necklace

A stylishly bold and unique statement necklace will complete any outfit, giving you the chance to show off your own sense of style. Bright and bold, refined and elegant, whatever you choose, a good statement necklace will take your outfit from plain to extra special.

Sunglasses are important accessory that adds personal style but also protect the skin around your eyes from sun damaging. So not only do they look cool and stylish, but they also protect your skin and eyes. The right pair of sunglasses that really suits the shape of your face can make you look as glamorous as a Hollywood star. So, if you don't own a pair of cool sunglasses, invest in one. Keep a pair in your bag, because you never know when the sun might shine.

A nice knitted scarf will keep you warm on a cold winter’s day, and look great with everything, no matter how much trends change. A scarf always adds a nice classy touch to a winter outfit, and it keeps the cold at bay.

A good scarf is a versatile item that can serve as the splash of color your outfit needs, as a headband, turban or even a summer dress. A scarf in a neutral tone will never go out of style, but in my opinion, fashion accessories should always have a splash of color and some pattern, too.

Most essential accessories simply add personality to your outfit, but belts take things a step further, and like a magic pill–they give you an hourglass figure and add a unique look to your outfit. A simple belt can have such a powerful effect on an outfit. Belts will always be stylish and sexy as they bring more definition to your waistline and accentuate all the right curves.

Belts are a great, inexpressive way to add more personality to an outfit and make it fit you perfectly. When you decide to shop for a small collection of belts, try to find belts that are reversible and have a different color on each side. This will double your collections of belts for half the price! Invest in good, quality belts that you can wear more often. A thin neutral or metallic belt is probably the best way to get more for your money.

Black Tights

Black tights are great for both work and evening wear, plus they can make an outfit a little bit more formal. Black tights work with both patterned and plain outfits, and they also make your legs look thinner too. Black tights are a definite must-have for your essential fashion accessories draw.

High Hilled Pumps

Most of us prefer comfort above everything, but that doesn't actually mean you should put comfort over style. A beautiful pair of shoes can give you all, function, style and comfort. A pair of closed, high heel pumps will go a long way, making any outfit look more glamorous. You can combine them with a simple black dress, or use them to dress up a pair of jeans. They work wonderfully with just about everything.
