Lets cut to the chase! What is a "melt" or "hair melting"?

A melt or hair melting are terms used in the beauty industry. They describe a form of hair coloring that has recently become quite popular. A melt can usually be defined as hair color that starts at the roots (usually in a dark shade) and slowly fades down to blonder tones/ highlights on the ends. This hair coloring technique can be found on a variety of celebrities: Drew barrymore, Jessica Biel, Sarah Jessica Parker, Lauren Conrad, Whitney Port, Gisele Bundchen, Penelope Cruz, Rachel Bilson, Kate Beckinsale, Jennifer Lopez, and Jennifer Aniston.
