Toe shoes and toe socks have become more and more popular in recent times as people are becoming aware of their benefits for feet, especially while participating in sports.

But finding toe socks isn't as easy as going to the nearest shoe store. Despite their popularity, their availability isn't widespread.

Below is information about various types of toe socks and where to find toe socks for toe shoes, toe socks with grip for yoga and Pilates, and regular toe socks.

Toe Socks for Toe Shoes

Toe shoes provide many benefits for feet like toe separation and improved foot function. They are a more natural design for feet to give maximum gripping and balance.

But toe shoes don't provide much warmth, so they aren't great for year round unless you get toe socks to go with them.

Fortunately, there are toe socks designed specifically for toe shoes. They are made of form-fitting material that also allows the feet to "breath" properly.

High quality toe socks are made without seams so there won't be any irritation or rubbing with the toe shoes. Most of them are also made of a moisture-wicking fabric that will cut down on sweat and other friction between the socks and the shoes.

The toe socks are machine washable and are relatively inexpensive for high quality and specialty socks. Expect to pay somewhere between $7-15 for a pair of good toe socks. For longer, mid-calf toe socks, expect to pay about $10-20.

Right now, Injinji makes the best quality toe socks on the market. They are specifically designed to fit Vibram toe shoes. AFX and RSG among others also sell quality toe socks made for toe shoes.

One downside of toe socks is that the toe shoe fit for some people is too tight to accommodate socks as well. If your toe shoes are too small to wear toe socks with them, you may consider buying a larger size of toe shoe to wear during cold weather.

Other than fit, most people find toe socks to be very comfortable once their feet are used to the initial toe separation.

Where to Find Toe Socks

Toe socks made for toe shoes can be found in stores that sell higher quality toe shoes. As of now, this will mainly be stores that specialize in outdoor equipment and sporting goods.

Vibram Five Fingers are also sold in Birkenstock stores and other higher end shoe stores. Their website has a store locator to find a shop near you.

You can also order toe socks online from places like Amazon. Most online retailers will allow you to return or exchange the socks if the fit isn't right. If you buy them from Amazon and they don't fit properly, Amazon offers free returns.

Toe Socks with Grip

Toe socks that have grip on the bottom are great for yoga, Pilates, and other types of exercise. The grip on the bottom provides stability and prevents slipping.

They offer protection for feet and still allow for free movement, grip, and balance. Toe socks can be more hygienic than bare feet and they offer warmth from cold floors.

There are even socks with half toes available for warmer days or for people who prefer bare toes for extra grip.

Where to Find Toe Socks with Grip

Grip toe socks can also be found in most sporting good stores. They are also available in some department stores. Look in the section where yoga mats and other sports equipment are kept.

Yoga studios, gyms, and shops that sell yoga clothes may also stock toe socks designed for yoga.

They can always be found online as well. Be sure to read the reviews before buying so you will know what kind of quality sock it is.

Toe Socks for Regular Shoes or Around the House

Toe socks are comfortable to wear around the house or even in regular shoes to help foot alignment, improve grip, and maintain good balance.

Many people also like to wear toe socks because they are cute and like the style.

Where to Buy Regular Toe Socks

Toe socks that aren't designed for any specialty use are more readily available than other types of toe socks. They can be found in department stores, shoe stores, and clothing stores, especially during the fall and winter. You can also order them online anytime.

Sharon - Try Amazon first. Just type in bamboo socks (toe socks if that is what you are looking for). If you want somewhere local, check athletic and yoga gear stores.
