Women's Summer Sandals | Wooden Wedges | Espadrille Wedges
Favorite Summer Sandals
I like most women love shoes! The problem is we need shoes for every season if we want to look our best. Summer is already here and I am behind on my shoe shopping but I decided to fix that. Summer sandals are one of my favorite style so its hard to choose just one or two pairs.
One of my favorites also happens to be one of the most popular summer sandals, wedges. They come in so many different styles, and they are very comfortable. Although there are many women who are willing to sacrifice comfort for style (and I have been guilty), as you get older, you want to look good but be able to walk the next day too.
Now back to the huge variety of styles when it comes to wedge sandals... They range from wild, colorful prints on canvas uppers to more detailed leather studded uppers with wooden wedges. You can also find them in both open toed and close-toed designs. Although when close-toed, they aren't really sandals, they are still worth mentioning.
Not comfortable in high heels? Then wedges can be the perfect choice for your summer sandals! They are much easier to walk in than traditional pumps, even if they have a four inch heel.
So on to the shoes! If I have to choose my personal favorites, I will admit I have more of a casual chic personality. I tend to lean towards wooden wedges and espadrille wedges when it comes to summer sandals (and of course not just one pair.)
Great Styles- Wooden Wedges
I have been a fan of wood-soled shoes for many years and wooden wedges are quite possibly my favorite. They just look so chic in every style or design whether they have soft canvas strapping to metal studded leather straps or anything in between.
You can turn a simple summer dress into a trendy, chic outfit with a pair of wooden wedges. They are great for all you ladies that have a more eclectic or bohemian personality, allowing you to be creative with your clothes and accessories.
Wooden wedges are really a classic design that will never go out of style or look out of date, making them an excellent investment for your summer sandals collection!
Now on to my other favorite sandal wedges. I can't possibly write about all of them in one sitting, so I narrowed it down to two. After taking inventory in my closet, it was fairly evident that next to wooden wedges, my favorites were Espadrille wedges.
For anyone not familiar with Espadrille wedges or espadrilles as they are more commonly known here is a brief description. They have soles that are made out of rope which is moulded, pressed and braided into the shape of a sole and then a layer of rubber or even a wooden heel may be glued on or secured with more stitched rope.
The Espadrilles of today may not exactly meet up to the original design but they are very distinct and easy to spot. They are actually available in a variety of styles but the most common is a slip on style with a wedge shaped heel and can be found in both open and close-toed designs.
Espadrille wedges always seem to be in style, especially since they are generally very lightweight, making them very comfortable. They have come a long way over the years and are no longer thought of as shoes for peasants but have their permanent place in the fashion world.
Women all over the world have added Espadrille wedges to their shoe collection, whether they love them for their bohemian style, comfort or simplicity, they have become a classic staple in every woman's summer sandals line-up.
