Why do you think men's cloth/pants are in the actual inches and women's are not?
Is it female pride or is there an actual reason?
Because they think women are all one length. I am 6' and my friend is 5'. There are 3 lengths of pants, petite, average, and tall. Hers are always too long, and mine are always too short. They think tall is 5'10.
I don't think they are any more. Both men's and women's seem to be generous on the sizing most of the time. Small boutiquey shops tend to be smaller, but most other manufacturers seem to always err on the bigger side of the sizing I find.
It's obvious! men don't care about their size and women tend to lie about theirs.
Men don't care if everyone knows their waist size. Hence a size 30 or 30x30 means exactly that: 30inches across.
But if you said women's size 8 I wouldn't know how to even describe that. It would depend on who made the pants and if it's regular or petite. Long or Short.
Bottom line: Woman are obsessed with hiding their measurements.
Why do they do that? I don't know. You're gonna have to start a whole nothing question hub thing for that.
Men's clothing is cut to fit their direct porportions.........women's clothing is cut to flatter the female figure.
Way, back there, in a time forgotten.........women adapted the cut of a man's wardrobe to fit their own sense of style, practablity, and function.........still, they wanted to be feminine.
The tailors created sizes, rather than true measurements.
Going back even farther, speculation here, women were not to wear the clothing of men...............so we ( and our tailors and seamstresses) created legal loopholes..............sizes.........various cuts, " stylish" differences, a different placement of pockets ,buttons and zippers.
Just a guess but our pants (and skirts) often have elasticised waist so it would be easier to fit by a size rather than measuring the stretched/unstretched measurement in inches on these kind of garments - However many of our jeans brands are often sold in inches. Also we wear dresses which are flowy at the waist and don't require a waist line, it's easier to know a size to buy other than try to work out in inches.

Exactly why do old people wear their pants so high?I've noticed a trend among older people. It seems the older they get the higher on their waist, or in some cases chest, their pants are worn. Does the location of our waist go up with age? Or are these people unaware they can get pants that will...
