Cellulite is a bacteria infection brought on by skin irritations. My husband spent six days in an ICU unit back in September due to cellulite that they thought started from some unidentified insect bite. Antibiotics are needed to fight the infection and it doesn't always fight it the first round without the infection coming back needing another round of antibiotics. He had several come backs occur these last six months. As we were told cellulite can last as long as six months before the risk of it coming back is gone, we too searched for home remedies only to find the key to fight it off is to keep the area clean to ward off infection. Don't scratch it when it itches especially with bare unwashed hands which carry bacteria. Aloe Vera gels or other anti-itch items could be used. Witch hazel, corn starch, oat meal baths and calamine lotion helps fight the itch. If feet and legs are continuously swelling elevate them as much as possible at a height high enough to carry the fluid back to your kidneys to discard it and drink a lot of water daily.
