Chin implants are now very common. They are often preformed at the same time as rhinoplasty (nose job) to give balance to the face. The surgeon makes a small incision under the chin or on the inside of the mouth and inserts the silicone implant which he has made to fit the shape of your face. The surgery can be done while you are put to sleep or even with local anaesthesia and semi sedation. It is only a day surgery and you will need one week off work.
It is best for people with a large nose, weak chin, receding chin but it will not fix small jaws or problems that need orthodontics.
In Australia they cost around $6000.
