    Why are jeans being named to insult large people?

    The jeans are super tight that is why they are called skinny jeans.
    Larger people wear them and the are still skinny jeans. Skinny jeans are a style of jeans.

    yes because skinny jeans is a style that hugs the whole leg not like flare where the jeans hug only the thigh and flares from the knee out.  So it does not matter on the size of the jean in particular.  This is also coming from someone who is a size 16.
