Two favorite home remedies of mine:
1) Brush with a mixture of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide; or
2) Brush with turmeric (a spice commonly used in Indian dishes) and a splash of water.
Both should have the consistency of a thick paste before brushing. The latter works best in my opinion and is actually soothing on the gums. The baking soda and peroxide method can be irritating.
If you use the turmeric method, use a separate toothbrush and be careful because it will stain everything yellow, except, ironically, your teeth. Happy smiling.
