Whether you like it or not, people's eyes often focus directly on your face. They are easily drawn to you when you have healthy beautiful looking face, relaxed and happy. Such a face engages the looks of people and make them feel happy. What a beautiful sight to look at.
Try to put on a grumpy face, one with skin as dry as leather. It is lifeless and people's eyes veer away from it. You don't have to be a beauty to catch people's eyes.
Some people have almost perfect features but their faces repel rather than engage. You don't have to put on so much make-up either. Such icing is attractive on a cake but not on your face. Beauty is best when it is natural. When you no longer hide your face behind locks of hair, masks, big sunglasses and other things to keep others from looking directly at your face, then, you have succeeded.

There are numerous companies throwing out beauty tips and products designed to suit all kinds of skin types. But those are all just props. They are useful sometimes but they are not there all the time. So, dig deeper to find what works all the time.

1. Clean and nourish your face everyday
This is more true when you're over 60 and when you go around polluted cities. Wash your face with water. This does not only keep it clean but also rehydrate it.

One of the things you really need to do is moisturize your face. Not really a problem in today's world when cosmetic companies try everything to vie for your beauty dollars. But do your own research and your own tests. What worked for your office mate may just harm your own skin. So, take time to do your own search. Take a few minutes from that office work. How you look is important to your business. When you look good, you raise office morale so do away with that guilt of spending a few minutes searching for that one of a kind, custom match moisturizer for your particular skin.
I use the following and found this to be very effective. I have shared this with a few friends and they really like it. However, always remember, what worked for me will not necessarily work for you. Also, depending on where I am, I vary the face cream I use. I use a heavier night cream for cold weather and a day cream for hot weather as it feels lighter. Your skin will tell you what it likes. Know it well.

Give your face 5 minutes everyday. Don't tell me you don't have 5 minutes. This is easy to do and once you have mastered it, you can easily fit this in your daily schedule.

Having a beautiful face need not cost you anything. At the top of every face care regimen is enough sleep. Why use products with harmful chemicals when you can rejuvenate and keep your face young by just sleeping at least 8 hours a day?
Enough sleep keeps your cells healthy. It gives you much needed rest for the body to repair the skin. It gives you peace of mind and this is what your face shows. So, have a good night's sleep.
5. Protect your face from the sun
Being out in the sun means subjecting yourself to the ultraviolet rays it emits. You can get sunburn, dark spots, and uneven skin tone once you fail to apply the necessary preventive measures. Always apply sunscreen or sun block with a high SPF before going out. Carry a bottle of mineral water and spray it on your face every now and then. Better yet, bring an umbrella or wear a hat.
This is not just a beauty issue but a health imperative as well. Your skin, you must remember, regulates heat and controls evaporation so take good care of your skin so it performs all these functions more effectively.
Apply sunscreen religiously
The application is often wanting. We forget to apply sunscreen once we are in the beach and have been there for hours. Initially, we are fine. But good if your suncreen works for 24 hours. Are you sure it is waterproof? When you stay in the beach the whole day, take to the shade once in a while and apply more sunscreen to the exposed areas of your skin especially your face. Take care now and you will enjoy the benefit in your aging years.

You'll find it difficult to care for your skin if you don't watch what you eat. Eating balanced meals per day is one of the most highly practiced beauty tips even the stars and models are using. Go for foods rich in Vitamin E that nourish the skin and fiber that serves as natural detoxifier. Eat lots of fresh fruits and vegetables bursting with nutrients and achieve that glowing face you adore.
We have started a year ago, as the advanced years dawned on us, to go for smoothies every morning. When we are in Asia, in goes the bananas, pineapple, apple, papaya, wheat germ or oatmeal and natural juices. In addition, we eat lots of green leafy vegetables which we just steam. We still have to do more as the temptation of less healthy food looms on us all the time.
7. Use only cosmetics of natural ingredients
Sometimes, we can't do without make up. If it's possible not to wear make up at all, do it to save your face from wear and tear. If not, use only cosmetics which are of natural ingredients like mineral make ups or those which are hypoallergenic. Be sure that they're also dermatologically tested and proven safe for your skin.
As I have aloe vera plants growing profusely, I cut off a tentacle or two and rub the gel inside in my scalp and skin. I have read here in one of the lenses that they are really good for your skin. So, why not? For now, my skin does not look dry. As if it looks at least 10 years younger so I will continue with this.
