Beautiful Nails

Updated on October 7, 2014

4 Weeks to Beautiful Nails

The first step to growing beautiful nails is to take care of them.

Having beautiful nails will not just happen overnight because you want it to. But you too can have them with just five minutes a day. If you spend any amount of time in front of the television then you got the time. Multi-task baby!

This lens will take you through the process of how I use T.I.P.S. nail products and hopefully show you the benefits of not using high-fume artificial products.

Just Ask

I first discovered Ask Cosmetics over seven years ago on the Canadian version of the Shopping Channel, QVC. The inventor Karen Orlowski, was on toting her wares and I was hooked by her presentation and bought my first T.I.P.S. kit.

The T.I.P.S. nail care kit included two bottles of their miracle nail formula (T.I.P.S.), a special metal nail file, and a cuticle brush. Each 0.17 fl. oz./ 5 ml bottle contains "Soybean Oil, Fragrance, Phenoxyethanol, Tocopherol, Methylparaben, Butylparaben, Ethylparaben, Propylparaben" and of course secret ingredients that make their product unique. Used daily, each bottle is meant to last six weeks.

The Incredible Protection System

My Nails When I'm Not Using T.I.P.S.

When I am not using T.I.P.S. my cuticles are frayed, some times bleeding and cracked from dryness despite using hand lotion. The nails peel, and separate into layers, break easily.

I use my hands like someone would use an instrument to open packages, scrap and pull. They are constantly bombarded by soap and water throughout the day as well as detergents and disinfectants that are harsh.

Hot Color for Nail Polish

Nail polishes have always been a fun way to play with the color palette of your wardrobe but when you are trying to grow your nails they make it hard to condition the full nail. If you are starting a new nail/cuticle conditioning system then give your nails a few weeks break from nail polish to get the full effect of the conditioning. When you are back to using nail polish again make an effort to give your nails a few days break in between to get a full condition.

5 Minutes a Day

The T.I.P.S. nail system is so easy to use. I usually do it while watching one of my favorite shows on television. I keep a small container with my solution, file and brush next to where I sit so it is always handy.

Each bottle comes with its own applicator like nail polish so it is incredibly easy to apply. I paint it on my nails, on the skin around my cuticles and underneath the nail at the tip.

After I have applied it to all my finger nails I take the brush and apply three strokes up the sides of the nail from the center of the nail bed up to the nail. Then I massage the liquid into my nails and cuticles. The final step is giving them a quick once over with the specially shaped nail file.

And it is as simple as that!

My Nails When I'm Using T.I.P.S.

When I am using T.I.P.S. my cuticles are smooth and healthy and my nails grow quickly. The nails do not split and the tips are a lovely white giving the allusion of a French manicure. If I accidentally jab a nail into something they don't crack. One the bonuses of using T.I.P.S. is also all the unsolicited phrase I get for having beautiful nails.

When I started using T.I.P.S. I used it daily until my cuticles and nails were healthy looking. For upkeep I only use it 2 to 3 times a week. And when I am really busy once a week.

It was not long before I started using T.I.P.S. on my toe nails which produces the same lovely French manicure affect.

@anonymous: Shopping online is definitely the way of the future. For your first time its best to start with a well known company so you can get the feel for things. I have shopped on eBay for years -- I always read the customer reviews and check out the sellers ratings before I order. Never order anything if you do not feel comfortable.

My nails are strong and when I take care of them they are beautiful. I should do more with them but I usually just clip them and put a coat of clear polish on them.

I have gone without my acrylic nails recently for about 3 months -- that was as long as I could take it with my splitting nails -- they were splitting after having removed the acrylics. It's amazing what an improvement tips can do to one's nails.
