Best Men's Watches Under $500

Updated on November 2, 2015

Find a cool watch for a guy if your budget is set at under 500 dollars

Have you visited this page in search of the best men's watch under $500 in 2015? If so you will be please you visited as I can provide something to suit everyone.

Are you in pursuit of a new timepiece for your husband for Christmas or his Birthday, but are struggling to pick? If so I am hoping this page will help you select something suitable.

This page will provide reviews and star ratings to help you decide which is best value for money. Those that will be featured will have at least a 4 star rating.

Is it too early to start shopping for Christmas? I do not think so, especially if you have lots of people to buy for. Timepieces can be expensive so it is good to buy early and spread your spending.

Image credit is Amazon. I particularly love the gift box that comes with this one.

How to choose the perfect one

When you have decided to buy a luxury gift for the man in your life and you have opted for a timepiece there are a few things you need to think about before making a purchase.

1) If you are interested in a particular brand, for example Citizen or Tissot. If you are buying a gift keep in mind that some people only want a select list of brands so even if you think you can get a bargain on another brand, it is best to stick to what they like.

2) The band and dial color - stainless steel, gold, black, brown or perhaps another color.

Best Men's Sport Watch within this price range

You can even snap up a bargain for much less than this.

Citizen Sports Watch

Citizen Men's Eco-Drive Promaster Nighthawk Dual Time Watch with Date, BJ7000-52E
Citizen Men's Eco-Drive Promaster Nighthawk Dual Time Watch with Date, BJ7000-52E
This Citizen sports watch is rated at 4.5/5. It has a 40% discount as we speak, making it excellent value for money. Many recent online reviews give this watch 5 stars. There are several reasons for its high rating including it is not heavy, good value for money, and it looks beautiful.

Most Popular Men's Casual Watch Under $500

I would recommend this for a gift for someone who loves the Tissot brand or wants a durable black leather strap which is not too big in size

Tissot Men's T17152652 PRC 200 Watch
Tissot Men's T17152652 PRC 200 Watch
Amazon Rating 4.2/5 after 80 reviews. Discounted on Amazon, RRP $450 Online Reviews :- 'Elegant, casual, recommended for males aged 30-35' Although males outside this age bracket could also wear this watch.' Another snippet taken from a review in the last few weeks:- 'The strap is great. The clasp feature will prolong the life of the band since it eliminates the folding stress at the hole where the prong is inserted. It is at this point where leather bands eventually crack and fail. Since you're not folding and inserting at this same point every time you put the watch on, the leather will last a lot longer. It does take a few times to get the knack of putting it on but so what? 2). The watch is thick but not too thick. When it's on your wrist you don't even notice how thick it is and no one else does either. 3). The diameter is not too small. Actually it is a perfect size.'

What I like to do...

I love buying my boyfriend nice gifts and although he does not collect timepieces he has accumulated several brand new watches in and around 500 dollars from me!! I find them to be a really easy gift to buy. I normally choose by product rating and recent positive reviews.

Indeed the Citizen Men's BJ7000-52E Nighthawk is nice but I personally think that the detailing on the main dial is a bit too tiny for my liking.

I'm however considering opting for the Citizen BL5250-02L Titanium Eco-Drive. I recently read a review about it here: and i think the reviewer (whoever he/she is) did a good job.

Before i finally pull the plug and go for it, I do like to here your though on the timepice.
