Converse plus Marimekko equals the best sneakers

Do you call them sneakers or trainers?

Being from England and now living in the States I get confused! But whatever you call them, I love these Converse / Marimekkos.

I bound and leap around

Yep, even at my age when I'm wearing my Converse Hi sneakers I bound about like a kid.I don't know how they do it and I'm sure it's because they are so well-made but they are over and above comfortable. I can walk for miles. And they actually make me more energetic and I have much more of a spring in my step.

And now using Marimekko designs

It's only recently that I discovered that there is such a thing as Converses featuring fabulous Marimekko fabric designs. Now this offers you the very best of both worlds. The absolute best and most comfortable shoes teamed with classic yet still slightly funky Marimekko designs. How could I resist?

I love Marimekko

I have done for many years. I've regularly had bed linen in their designs, scatter cushions and as I sit here typing, I can see my black and white Marimekko umbrella that hangs by the door. I'm a devotee.

Not a typical design

The design you see above isn't typical - see below for more 'standard' Marimekko - but I chose these for two reasons. The first is that I wear lot of black. These hi tops look great with tight black jeans and a black sweater or t-shirt. They add just that little touch of design to what would otherwise be a pretty boring outfit. The second thing I love is that, and this is because I'm a motor racing fan, they remind me of the chequered flag. How perfect for me! If you prefer more classic Marimekko, scroll down for other examples.

@sousababy: I call them both - being a weird British American hybrid:)

Well, they certainly are fun looking and the black and white ones are definitely like the checkered flag. I call 'em sneakers (but then again, I'm Canadian).
