Cremation Lockets

Updated on October 15, 2014

Cremation Jewelry For Ashes

A few years ago I went to the funeral service of my nephews father who passed away suddenly. He had chosen to be cremated. So they had a really simple memorial service with his urn sitting in the front of the room with a picture of him.

Each child went up front and said a few words. My niece even sang a song. Then they spoke about how they would each have a part of their father with them as they had cremation jewelry for ashes.

I thought this was such a lovely idea. I had never heard of it before.

Cremation Urn Jewelry - Lockets For Ashes

More people are choosing cremation rather than burial these days. And one way for families to memorialize a loved one is by wearing a cremation locket. Cremation lockets that hold ashes, gives the mourner a way to memorialize their loved one. Many of the jewelry pieces are very delicate and beautiful.

Many people choose a Cross Cremation Locket, Hearts cremation locket as well as cylinders & vessels.

Angel Wing Ash Holder Necklace

This angel wing pendant is beautiful. The angel wing has cubic Zirconia stones. And the pendant hangs on a 20 inch chain. It comes in a box and makes the perfect gift for someone who is mourning their loved one.

Both of the featured ash holder necklaces contain a small funnel as well as instructions to fill and seal the pendant. But I suggest watching the demonstration video below.

We are thinking of doing something like this when we pass on, since our families are scattered and are unlikely to visit wherever we decide to have our ashes scattered, and it means that a memory of us at least will live on. I think it's a great idea.

One reason for cremation jewelry's growing popularity is its versatility - cremation jewelry isn't just for wearing, and it's not just an ash pendant to hold cremated remains. The demand for cremation jewelry has inspired artisans to create a myriad of innovative designs to hold any personal keepsake, from a bit of a loved one's cremated remains or a snippet of hair to a pinch of dried and crushed flowers or a thimbleful of soil from a loved one's burial site.
