Rings I'm Crushing On

Updated on April 5, 2013

Cute, Beautiful, and Elegant Rings

My guilty pleasure is looking up pretty things on Amazon, and thinking about how nice it would be to own them. Well, as far as rings go, it's difficult! And I'm not talking about price: my fingers are small, but a bit knobby. Once a ring is large enough to fit over my knuckle, it's too loose on the finger to be comfortable or stay upright. Oh well. I still get a kick out of looking up rings online, and I thought others might like to see some of the rings I found as well. Valentine's day might be over, but these heart shaped rings are bound to always be winners!

This page showcases many heart shaped and heart cut rings that would make great gifts. Whether you're looking for gold hearts, diamonds, or silver, there's a little bit of everything!

Simple Pink Heart - Lovely Three-Stone Design

I love the simplicity of this design. The bright pink sets it off wonderfully, and I think this ring would look so beautiful when worn. I like rings that don't overpower, and this pink sapphire CZ ring has just the perfect amount of "pop" without being overwhelming. But then, I love pink!

I bet similar rings in garnet would be great for those who like deeper, more passionate colours, so I put up a list of garnet rings a little further down the page.

Choosing Rings as a Gift

Gifts for Her Should be From the Heart

There's so many different styles of rings now, with endless cuts, metals, finishes, and settings. Instead of trying to decide which ones you think would be best, it may be easier to approach it backwards: What rings absolutely won't do?

Many people are allergic to base metals, so you may have to limit yourself to silver or gold instead of plated items. It also pays to have a general idea of that person's style: whether they enjoy bold, statement making items, or more demure designs with simple beauty. What colours do they like, or hate? Do they enjoy casual wear, or do they prefer dressier looks? Continue this line of thought. Each time you make a decision, you eliminate options. This is a good thing! When you've exhausted your knowledge, whatever is left to choose from may be exactly what you're looking for.

Or you could ask them, but where's the fun in that?

Gorgeous Two-Tone Ring - One Silver and One Gold Heart

These metals blend so beautifully together. I love how the silver and gold tones contrast and compliment eachother: they are perfect together! This two-tone diamond heart ring is a wonderful analogy for a loving relationship. Once again the setting is an appropriate thickness and does not protrude. It looks beautiful even from the side in the secondary photo.

What Do You Think?

Sometimes I may read too much into these designs, but I like to think everything has a story to tell, do you agree? Feel free to elaborate in comments!

Hearts Entwined - Silver and Gold Hearts

Interlocking designs on a heart ring can symbolize enduring love. Multiple hearts entwined together can be symbols of family and other loved ones.

Infinity Twist - Love is Forever

I like this one especially because of the infinity symbol it evokes. It's also a very pretty design, unassuming and not overpowering. The opposite, symmetric curves of the band highlight the graceful form of the heart, and it makes it much more flowing than if it had a straight band. I like how there's just a splash of stones on the heart, and the rest is shining white gold. Simple, sincere beauty.

Basic Care Tips

Different materials will react in different ways: be sure you do some research into the type of ring you're buying to make sure that you will know how to care for and clean it. Some colour treated stones lose intensity with heat or certain chemicals, so be careful what you use around them. Be cautious not to scratch bands on surfaces, as well. Finally, store rings that you aren't wearing in a lined box, preferably one that has individual ring-holders, so that the rings will not rub against each other and risk being scratched or losing stones.

@knit1tat2: Yes, it's unfortunate that a lot of the safe metals for those allergic are so expensive, hehe. Thank you for visiting!

nice rings, but I'm allergic to most metals, so look but don't touch. The ones I can wear are a bit out of my price range!!lol
