Favorite Shoes for Snow
Bought these last week and I've worn them about every day since! I love my new Merrell Jungle Mocs.
We're not even a month into winter and I'm tired of pulling on my snow boots. I wanted something easy to slip into that would still keep me from slipping when there's snow underfoot. These shoes fit the bill perfectly. And, they're so comfortable, I've been wearing them around the house. They really are my new favorite shoes.
Where I work, we have a "no boot" dress code. Dress boots are okay, but the lug bottom boots that get you safely across a snowy parking lot are supposed to be ditched at the door. Well, these suede slip-ons are perfectly within the dress code and look great with casual pants and jeans (that we are permitted to wear). I can go straight from the car to a meeting without having to change shoes and stash my boots.
These Merrell Jungle Mocs are well constructed and have excellent support. I have flat feet and am most comfortable in shoes with a well constructed arch (like Birkenstocks). The Mocs have flexible side gussets to accommodate those with a higher arch. The lug bottom sole is stable but also flexible enough for easy walking.
Merrell even claims these shoes have a "no smell" feature! They're treated with something they call an Aegris Microbe Shield that "controls odor, staining and deterioration" caused by microbes. It may be to early too tell about the deterioration, but I've had no smelly feet complaints!
I bought my first pair in Midnight and they go with just about everything. That's right, I said "first pair," because I'm about to pick up at least one more pair. I'm thinking Nubuck for the next pair.
Winter -- where do you stand?
Here's my new favorite shoe in Nubuck. I plan to get this one next. What do you think?
