Top 10 Perfumes For Women of All Time

Is your favorite perfume one of the Top 10 Perfumes For Women of All Time?

I am sure you know that there is a major difference between the best smelling perfumes of all time and the top ten perfumes for women of all time. One is not necessarily the same as the other.

Generally, when we think of the top ten fragrances of all time, we are thinking about total units sold. But just because it sells the most does not make it the best. This evaluation should be based on personal preference and not based on marketing or sales data.

Typically, I like to base my selection of fragrance on personal preference and not on hype, celebrity endorsements, or fancy marketing tactics. Though I must admit, I will sample a new fragrance if it has positive reviews or excellent references behind it.

Celebrity endorsements do not hold much weight with me. As a matter of fact, if a celeb touts a particular fragrance, I generally stay away from it all together. Ironically, celebrity endorsement is the one thing that promotes the sale of a perfume the most.

Take Beyonce Heat Perfume for example...

It has been named as the "Best-Selling Celebrity Fragrance Of All Time". That is great for Beyonce and the makers of her perfume, but to me, it smells like one of those bubble gum, cookie cutter perfumes and doesn't make the cut for the top ten best perfumes for women. I find it to be one of those simple perfumes that celebs put their name on, for recognition or profit.

On the flip side of that are perfumes that celebrities have worn, or like to wear, based on its performance and likability. Not because their name is on the bottle or they are getting paid to mention it.

That is the case with Marilyn Monroe and Chanel No. 5. She truly loved to wear this fragrance due to it's fine qualities and her endorsement of the fragrance was totally unsolicited.

Marilyn explains that when asked by interviewers "What do you wear to bed"?, she didn't want to say that she slept in the nude, instead, she told them that she wore her favorite fragrance.

What do I wear in bed? Why, Chanel No. 5, of course. ~ Marilyn Monroe

CH Perfume by Carolina Herrera
CH Perfume by Carolina Herrera

No. 10 Carolina Herrera's CH perfume

Placing Carolina Herrera's CH perfume at number 10 is a double edged sword. It is not my number one fragrance, but it is a must have. I love this scent and I only place it at the "bottom" of my top ten perfumes list because I want it to be the first one you see.

Ch by Carolina Herrera is a "swoon worthy" perfume. When I smell this stuff on a lady my spine goes limp and my knees want to buckle.

This perfume is one of the best selling perfumes because it very elegant, yet it is not stuffy or stiff.

This mellow scent is a mix of melon, bergamot, cinnamon, orange, pomelo, rose, jasmine, and praline, over a very fine woody base notes.

No. 9 Ck One by Calvin Klein

Seeing as this is a unisex Eau De Toilette, I was not sure if I should list Ck One by Calvin Klein as one of the best female perfumes. But I do love it when I run into, or pass, a lady who is wearing it.

If you recall, when this stuff came out, every man, women and child was sporting it. It was like the whole world had fallen into a bucket of CK One. The place reeked of it.

It took a little time, but the fad died out and the wanna-bees stopped ridding the fashion wave. Leaving only those who truly appreciate this beautiful perfume wearing it.

One of the great things about CK One is that it has very fine hints of jasmine and lemon. It is then mixed with tones of sandalwood, rose, and patchouli to give it that down to earth flavor. If you are looking for a casual fragrance, CK One should be on your short list.

D&G Light Blue
D&G Light Blue

No. 8 D & G Light Blue

D & G Light Blue By Dolce & Gabbana For Women is a one of the most popular fragrances for women. As a matter of fact, it is one of my wife's favorites.

As it is, I get many opportunities to enjoy this beautiful perfume. Maybe a little too often. This reminds me... Ladies, if you have a favorite perfume, do not be afraid to set it aside for a day or two and give a lesser scent a chance. You do not want to become a "One Scent Sandy".

You can have a signature fragrance but remember to mix it up a bit. I am not saying that you need a new scent for every day of the week. Just do not use the same scent every day of the week. This advice is not only for your own benefit, but for those around you too.

And no, my wife is not named Sandy. No offense to any Sandy's intended...

D&G Light Blue is a casual every day type musk perfume that has a mix of rose, apple, and jasmine. It is a light fragrance suitable for just about any social event. I am sure that you will love it too.

No. 7 Cashmere Mist

How does one explain the magnificence of Cashmere Mist By Donna Karan?

If you are looking into these top ten women's perfumes online to attract men, you will want to look very closely at this one.

If there is such a thing as an aphrodisiac, this perfume is the Spanish Fly of all Spanish Flies. I guarantee that the women who wear this perfume will turn many a head. It is just that attractive.

One can not walk into this scent without being allured by it's beauty. Most guys can be lured by their tummy and this sent falls into the category of being yummy.

It is a warm and beautiful blend of fresh jasmine and floral mixes that meld perfectly with a rich vanilla and sandalwood base that create a light fragrance web.

No. 6 Casual by Paul Sebastian

Everyone needs a casual perfume for every day use and Casual by Paul Sebastian hits the nail right on the head.

This is one of my top perfumes for women on-line because it is a "No Brainer" perfume. If you are in a rush and not sure what to wear, or you do not care what you have on as long as it is nice, this is the one you should grab. It goes with, and for, any occasion.

This also makes the perfect gift for your casual friend. Not sure what to get them? This is your answer.

Granted, this perfume isn't going to knock anyone's socks off, but it is a very nice fragrance that is great for any occasion.

Casual has a very classic flavor to it with a hint of rose and jasmine tossed into a very nice fruit blend.

No. 5 Beautiful By Estee Lauder

The name says it all... Beautiful By Estee Lauder is a perfume that will make you feel just as beautiful as you smell.

This fragrance is an oldie but goody. It came out in 1985 and is known to be a very feminine and attractive scent.

It is very classy and very sweet. Beautiful is a perfect mix of carnation, rose, jasmine, and other fine flowers over a fruity base consisting of plums, melons, peaches, and sweet citrus tones.

A word to the wise... This is a powerful perfume. You do not want to overdo it, so apply sparingly.

No. 4 Romance by Ralph Lauren

Every girl needs a little romance in her life and Romance by Ralph Lauren can help set the mood.

As you well know, most guys suck at the art of romance. I am no exception. I worked hard at it when my wife and I were dating, but I have let it slip a bit since we got married. Now, you do not need to depend on him to set it up, you can have Romance in a bottle.

This perfume consists of a very sensual fragrance of velvety woods, bouquets of flowers and lustful musk, that make for a liaison of passion.

No. 3 Eternity

We are now getting down to my top three fragrances for women. And to tell you the truth, creating this list is much more difficult than I thought it would be. Unfortunately, they can not all be number one.

At number three, we have Eternity by Calvin Klein for Women. I love the women's version of this perfume just as much as I like the men's cologne.

Normally, that does not happen. Take women's Obsession for example. I love the men's Obsession cologne, but the women's version of it does nothing for me. The female version is a bit too thick for my liking.

Eternity for women is one of those rare perfumes that can be worn for just about any occasion. That may be why it is one of the best selling perfumes of all time.

With a base of flowers, spice, and exotic fruits mixed with patchouli tones and amber notes it creates a fine feminine scent that draws in compliments and turns a man's head faster than a NASCAR race.

Tommy Girl
Tommy Girl

No. 2 Tommy Girl

Tommy Girl by Tommy Hilfiger is one of my all time favorite sexy perfumes for women.

Tommy Girl perfume came out in 1996, and I have loved it since day one.

With it's sporty yet refreshing floral scent, it can be a very stimulating fragrance. The honeysuckle, jasmine, and light hints of rose create a beautiful bouquet of essence.

The great thing about Tommy Girl is that it is never out of place. From flip-flops to high heels... From cut off jeans to an evening gown... You can wear Tommy Girl and never feel out of place.

No. 1 Viva La Juicy

Yes. My number one choice for the Top Ten Best Perfumes for Women is Viva La Juicy by Juicy Couture.

Some may give me grief for choosing Viva La Juicy as my number one perfume, but I absolutely love it. I believe that it is the best perfume for women of all time.

It is so yummy-yummy, I could just eat it up. This perfume put's a smile on my face every time I run into it. The sent of Viva La Juicy is so happy go lucky, it can put anyone in a good mood.

With it's playful and perky citrus tones cast over a splash of wild berries, jasmine, gardenia and honey suckle, this perfume exudes bold femininity all wrapped up in a pretty pink bow.
