Foot tattoos have always been very common especially among girls, foot tattoos look very sexy and feminine. When it is done well, a foot tattoo can look amazing. The advantage of getting a tattoo on your foot is that you can always hide it when ever you want. But foot tattoos have been known to fade really fast, a lot faster than tattoos on other parts of the body. Wearing shoes all the time is one reason for a foot tattoo to fade away, so because of this a foot tattoo needs touching often.

Girls have much higher preference for foot tattoos than guys. Some of the most famous celebrities with foot tattoos are the Katherine Mcphee (Katherine’s foot tattoo is not a permanent it’s actually a henna tattoo), Rihanna, Charlize Theron and Nicole Richie. The most common designs for foot tattoos have been flower, star, butterfly, fairy, Celtic knot work, tribal art or shooting star designs. Foot tattoos are a brilliant work of art that has set a new trend in fashion but do keep in mind they can be quite painful.

Just like any other tattoo getting any other tattoo before you get a foot tattoo, you need to think of it for a bit. One thing you have to avoid is going for a small and complicated design. And if possible try to avoid a lot of light colors on your tattoo since its on the foot and because of wearing shoes all the time it can fade away fast if light colors are used. Foot tattoos take sometime for healing so to avoid irritation its advisable to wear socks after getting a foot tattoo for quite a while after getting a foot tattoo. As mentioned earlier be prepaid for a bit of pain and it can also bleed a little while getting your foot tattoo, but it is worth the pain since it look amazing when its done very well.

Some important rules about foot tattoos are

1) You can not wear shoes right after getting a foot tattoo.
2) You have to wear flip flops for sometime until the wounds heal.
3) When ever you are going in the sun you should apply sun protection cream in the tattooed area.
4) You should not go swimming until the tattooed area has completely healed.
