Updated on September 18, 2015

Durable mens sleeveless hoodies

Summer is coming, but first we've got spring and cloth for spring are always a bit tricky.Sleeveless hoodies are just the solution for spring. You don't want the thick winter hoodies, but you don't want a t-shirt either. Sleeveless hoodies are in such a case just what you need

The advantage of sleeveless hoodies are obvious. During a hot day you can wear it without a shirt, but when the night falls you can easily combine the sleeveless hoodie with a sweater or shirt.

Hoodies can be very fashionable but also great for work outside or jogging.

When I worked at the post as a postmen, hoodies where great. They gave me enough protection against the cold but where not to hot when the sun came out.

Living in Spain there is a huge difference between night and day. I can wear t-shirts during the day in the winter, but at night the temperature drops rapidly and then a jacket or a hoodie is a great solution.

A little bit of information about the hoodie.

The peculiar history of the hoodie!!!

The hoodie is not a new fashion trend as you may aspect. Neither is it a left over of the 80's. Hoodies are a much older fashion invention. If you have ever seen the film The name of the rose you will remember Sean Connery as a monk wearing a hoodie.

The hoodie style of the monks of Medieval Europe where a hood is attached to the robe was a common fashion style. Farmers, people who worked outdoors used the hood or chaperon as a protection against the harsh weather.

In the United States the first hooded sweatshirts were made in th 1930s. The original brand who started it all was Champion and sold the clothes to people who had to work in the freezing temperatures in New York.

The term hoodie though started to take root in the 1990s.

The hoodie took off in the 1970s, with several factors contributing to its success. Hip hop culture developed in New York City around this time, and the hoodie's element of instant anonymity, provided by the accessible hood, appealed to those with criminal intent.[2] High fashion also contributed during this era, as Norma Kamali and other high-profile designers embraced and glamorized the new clothing[1] Most critical to the hoodie's popularity during this time was its iconic appearance in the blockbuster Rocky film.[citation needed]

But the real popularity of the hoodie as a fashion and designer clothing started in the 70's with the Hip-hop culture in New York. And since that time the hoodie only increased in popularity. Designers like Norma Kamali and other fashion designers took the hoodie as a simble of independentcy and glamorized the clothing style.

The bluckbuster film Rocky with Silvester Stalone made the hoodie iconic for it's time and gave it a cool and sportive image.

In the 90's the hoodie developed into a statement of academic freedom and was it associated with nerd and intellectual students. The hoodie became more and more integrated in the street fashion and was accepted as casual clothes for many different groups of people.

The surfers embraced the hoodie as well and promoted the fashion trend further among the United States. At the same time you could find in California hoodies with the emblems of university printed on them. The hoodie was not an ordinary fashion item any more. Tommy Hilfiger, Giogio Armani and Ralph Lauren started to design luxuries hoodies.

New fashionable hoodies without sleeves for Spring

For me the hoodie has been a favorite for a long time. It's a friend during those days when it's to cold for a t-shirt but to hot for a coat. There is a drastic temperature drop in the place where I live. Especially in the winter and spring. During the day I can easily wear a shirt but as soon as the sun goes down I have to wear something warmer.

The hoodie is ideal and it's far from being a homeless suit. Nowadays fashion designers have taken up the hoodie and are using the original design in funky retro hoodies. (like the retro hoodie on the right.
