Hatley Pajamas: Comfy, Cute, and Everlasting Memories
Dressing your new bundle of joy is typically something you dream of doing. So many cute outfits, so many little costumes, and now you have a little miniature person to put them in! It doesn't take long, however, before you realize a few things -
First, that adorable little miniature person you've got also comes with some pretty sensitive skin. The lace you dreamed about now looks like sandpaper and that tag on the cute pajama set is like a thorn in your babies neck.
Second, the really cute outfits are only good for one or two days. Then, somehow, your baby doubles in size and the outfit shrinks in the wash. You're left with tight onesies and socks that are slipping off.
The solution? You guessed it - Hatley's footed PJs. I never would have guessed (or even heard of the brand) had I not been given a set at my baby shower. I fell in love instantly because of the "big boy" patterns that are actually pretty hard to find for newborns and little babies. Teddy bears and big-eyed monkeys are of course adorable, but I was thrilled to have some alien pajamas to add to the mix.
Then the time came to start using them and I really fell in love. First and foremost, the fabric is a soft cotton that doesn't shrink, so you already get more wear out of it. It is also a little thinner than most baby pajamas which I really loved because you can keep a full layer on them in hot nights, or decide to swaddle them on cold nights. They were the only pajamas I had for my son where I didn't worry all night about his body temperature. Second (and possibly coolest), they have a great little elastic addition to the footed area that keeps the foot in place. This means that the leg portion can be a little extra long and the foot still stays in place, which means you can actually use these pajamas for at least twice as long as all other baby footed outfits.
They're adorable. They're comfortable. They're functional. Oh yeah - and they're cheap. And luckily, for people like me, they've developed dozens of patterns - so you can have a fresh set ready each night.
