How To Keep Up With The Latest Fashion Trends

Updated on November 26, 2014

How to learn and keep up with fashion

Hello Fashionistas.

Fashion evolves very fast. This lens will show you tips on how to learn about the wonderful world of fashion and how to keep up with the latest fashion trends.

It is just like the news, you have to emerge yourself in it. Learn about the history, the base and then keep up with the latest.

I also included tips on how to find inspiration for you own wardrobe at good prices.

Fashion is all about the clothes but also the jewelry, the shoes and the makeup.

I have the passion for fashion and I hope you get it too.

The Little Black Book of Style

Know your fashion history first

Know about fashion history and its icons.

Reading books is the best way but you can also watch documentaries and movies about fashion such as :

The september issue

Coco before Chanel

Unzipped

Valentino: the last emperor

Signé Chanel

Prêt-à-Porter

The Devil Wears Prada

The Intern

The BBC had an amazing documentary about Haute Couture too. That can be found on the Internet

The September Issue

Valentino: The Last Emperor

Magazines

I have a few subscriptions and I always make sure to pick up the september issue of Vogue

I love fashion magazines, they are a great source of inspiration for me.

I never buy designer clothes but I look at all the trends and then I shop at H&M, Zara and Forever 21 to find similar styles

I still have a subscription to Seventeen Magazine. What ... I love it.

Blogs

Blogs are a cool way to learn about trends.

My favorite ones are here below but you can find many others

These are european but they shop at H&M and Zara

Fashion T.V

Watching Fashion Television is a great way to discover new designers or learn about what is going on at fashion week or what is coming up next season.

They also have many shows like What Not To Wear that I don't watch but it is out there for style advice

T.V shows

Watching T.V shows such as Gossip Girl, Keeping up with the Kardashians or Pretty lLittle Liars is fun and you can observe how they dress, what jewerly they are wearing and just find inpiration there to create you own style and find similar items in cheaper stores.

Older cool shows about fashion were The Hills and The City

The fashionista diaries is my favorite.

They also have many fashion competition style shows

I like beauty related tv reality like Blush or Jerseylicious.

Fashion Forecasts books

You can find those in fashion schools, and they don't let you take it out of the school or photocopy it.

It is a book with all the trends that will come out in the next seasons. Companies use it for inspiration and it's very interesting to look at.

You Tube

I find this an extroadinary tool especially for makeup and beauty products trends.

You can always find videos and reviews about new products and how to use them...

Favorite Gurus are Pixiwoo and Lisa Eldridge

Watching Haul videos is always inspirational too. Try those by Dulcecandy87 and Elle and Blair

The street

Look around, what are they weariing, how are they doing their hair and makeup, what do their hair look like..

And if you travel this is even more fun to do. Seeing what they wear in another country is always fascinating to me.

Ask questions

When I go to my hairstylist I always ask her what is the latest in hairstyles and I do the same when I go for manicures.

They know, it's their line of work

Do you feel up to date with the latest fashion trends?
