Bath Salt Directions

Place the Epsom and course salts into the plastic bag.

Add one drop of food coloring.

Close the bag and shake until the coloring is distributed

Add 2-3 drops of essential oil to the bag; close and shake well.

Open the bag and smell the salts to see if the desired scent is achieved. If not, add another drop or two of essential oil and then close the bag and shake again.

Add the bath salts to a jar. Canning jars work well because they have a two piece lid, which will help to seal in the scent.

I had never really thought about making my own bath salts but it would be a really nice gift for seniors, teens, or moms.

What a great idea. I love a good salt soak when I'm really achy. I'm adding this as a featured lens to my Homemade Christmas Lensography under homemade gifts. This seems perfect for it. :)

Tempting idea. I've always wondered what the big chunky bathsalts that were around years ago were made of. Would that be some sort of washing soda?

I didn't realize bath salts were so easy to make, and to be able to easily customize the fragrance and colours, and add a pretty bottle with ribbons for a gift, very cool, thanks! - Kathy
