Sexy Korean Hairstyles For Guys

Updated on June 16, 2011

Are Korean Hairstyles Suitable For Every Guy?

Many of the hottest guys celebrities are sporting sexy Korean hairstyles. These Asian inspired dos are soft, long, and very classy. They work well with guys who have medium length, straight hair that is thin to medium in thickness. Most of them only require a bit of mousse and a comb each morning, however, others are more elaborate and can take up to two hours to fix.

These styles do not work well with all types of hair. For men with thick hair, it is not hard to pull off these styles. A professional salon stylist can run through the hair with thinning scissors or a razor to help thin it out so it will lie flat. The hair should be well conditioned so that it does not frizz up. Taking good care of the hair is important in keeping the look neat and attractive.

Korean Hair Color

While the color of the hair does not matter so much, most Asians are born with dark brown to black hair. Some men replicate this look with hair dyes. It is important to avoid going more than two shades darker than the natural hair color, otherwise, the dyed hair will not look real. The dye can be done at home, or safely applied at a certified hair salon.

Boy Band Look

Dark hair can be bleached or colored with funky hair dyes to create a "boy band" type of look. Popular colors are green and red, and they can be added to the bangs on in streaks. Some guys add frosted highlights throughout the hair for an interesting texture.

Choppy Hairstyle

To get that choppy, Asian look, a professional stylist will create shorter layers around the sides & front of the head and nape of the neck. The hair will be longest on top and in front, where it can be gently swept over the forehead and around the face.

Shaved Styles

A more masculine look can be achieved with the use of a razor. Some men from Korea shave the sides of their head to create a mohawk. Others shave the whole head except the front bangs. The side burns can also be trimmed short to show more of the face rather than hide it behind hair that is too long.

Exploring Korean hairstyles for guys can change up a look and make any guy more attractive. Girls go crazy for guys with sexy hair. Most stylists are great at helping to select which hair styles look the best for different types of hair and facial features. These hair styles are getting popular with younger guys who want to look neater and add a touch of class to their style.
