Looking Casual and Cool In Converse

Updated on September 23, 2014

Converse All Stars Sandshoes

I love Converse All Stars sand shoes whether it be the boot or the shoe.

Coming in all their many styles and colours they are comfortable, versatile and cool to wear.

I bought my first pair of navy blue converse in the late seventies and now have black, pale blue and pink, which all are in different styles.

Some are in shreds and others new, looking cool how ever you want to wear them.

Converse All Stars have been around a long time and I guess will always stay around, from the original converse design to the new of today.

The Start of This Cool Converse Fashion

The Converse all Stars cool fashion of today all started when an American basketball player Chuck Taylor chose this shoe to play his basketball games in during the sixties.

The shoe was then modified for basketball, requiring a non slip sole and so become Chuck Taylor's preferred basketball shoe which he put his name to.

On all Converse All Stars sand shoes there is the trademark patch with Chuck Taylor's signature designed with in it.

Only two colors were available back then, black and white. White high tops being Chucks signature classic original Converse All Star sand shoe hence the name for this shoe in America is 'Chucks'.

These days Converse comes in many colors, patterns and materials. Not just cotton canvas is used but materials such as suede, leather, vinyl, denim and hemp are all used to make many funky cool sand shoes.

Converse All Stars Funky Fashion.

Converse All Stars have moved on from being the popular basketball boot to being a funky streetwise colourful sand shoe.

This hip and happening shoe symbolizes a rebellious, youthful cool when worn walking the streets of any city or town.Teaming it with jeans or dresses it make a statement of who you are.

Now in the years of 2000, the converse sand shoe is going though another style change becoming the trendy expensive must have item being made in Italian leather with suede laces and toecaps.

Although more expensive materials are being used the original Chuck Taylor high top design of the shoe still remains the same.

The Converse All Star has certainly changed over its long history from its humble beginnings as an inexpensive canvas sand shoe and will still remain to me, as that colourful funky cool sand shoe with attitude.

I haven't had a pair of Converse Sandshoes for at least 30 years! How utterly foolish of me to forget how glamorous a pair of runners can be
