Which clothing stores to shop for mature women that are older than forty and beyond?

Updated on June 2, 2012

Mature women, those that are older than 40 years old, are often wondering which clothing stores are the best for them. Obviously, you should not shop at stores (such as forever21, Abercrombie and Fitch and etc) geared for younger women. This hub is all about the best stores to shop for mature ladies. Turning forty doesn't mean that you have to look like an old lady; there are plenty of fashion trends that you can still rock.

Anthropologie – This store might not be well known for many women. It is within the same company as Urban outfitters and Free people. These three stores are geared toward different age groups. Anthropologie is for mature / older ladies that like carefree / bohemian style. This store is on the pricier side with most of their items over one hundred dollars. You really have to wait for their items to go on sale before buying unless you have a bottomless wallet. I really like this store because of the unique and classic styles that they offer.

The Gap – The gap is a well known store here in the United States. You can expect to find all the classic pieces that are suitable for all ages. This store should be a stable place to shop for mature women. You will find that most items are suitable for women of all age groups. Best of all, The gap has frequent discounts on their items to help you save more money.

J. crew – This store is the upscale version of The gap and has lots of fashionable and suitable clothes for a mature woman. The pieces are very classic, refined and timeless. You can find tan trench coats, cashmere sweaters, slacks and more in the J. crew store and online. This store is for women that have very classic sense of style. It is also a good place to shop for professional clothing.

Anne Taylor – This store is perfect for mature women that are looking for clothes in the workplace. It has lots of classic and cute outfits for women that are petite and regular size. Anne Taylor is very good for women forty years or older.

Coldwater creek – This is another great store to shop for mature ladies older than forty years old. In addition to causal pieces, it also has office ready clothing that are classic, refined and cute. The price range is similar or slightly below J. crew. They offer lots of items that are high quality for older women.

Nordstrom and Nordstrom rack – Nordstrom and Nordstrom rack are good stores for women of any age. It has lots of products that cater to the needs of a mature woman. In addition to being a clothing store, Nordstrom and Nordstrom rack has lots of designer handbags and shoes for you to choose from. The items are somewhat expensive but worth the money for the quality and the design.

Chadwicks – This store is great for older women on a budget. Its price range is lower than everything mentioned above. I can say that the price range is similar to Forever21. It caters to older women by having refined designs and classic styling. This is highly recommended for those that are budget conscious.

I like this info. very much. Glad to see you have Coldwater Creek on there. It's my favorite clothing store, but I only buy in their outlet stores or when they have sales...and they do have some good ones. They have a great outlet on their online site and I sometimes check out my size in a certain item in the stores, then wait for it to go in the outlet. I am one of those budget conscious shoppers that also shops at Chadwicks!
