Business Cases with Value for your Money!

When the consumer is shopping for a Business Case, we find it is not much different than shopping for clothing or shoes. If you have a preferred brand, and the brand delivers a good fit, value, function, and looks good, chances are you will remain brand loyal. However, today the worldwide web has made product availability easier than ever to obtain. The world has become a very small place, and there are more choices than ever before for the consumer. Value for your money has become paramount!

Our customer is no different, they expect value for their money. The difference today, is that the consumer seems to be far more product educated than ever before, This information is available to them through their laptops, tablets, and smart phones. In fact, they only need to scan the QR code (Quick Response Code) to learn all they need to know about any product. This virtual world has made it possible for every customer to become an expert. Today, in order for a brand to survive and become relevant it is vital that the product offers value!

Now the challenge is, how do you compete with the well establish brand names? These brands all had a starting point, yet today it seems almost inconceivable how much money and advertising it takes to drive a major brand. Fortunately, a by-product of this tough economy, is the fact that the consumer has become much more product savvy. Brand alone will not drive the product, if the product does not have merit. In fact today we have more customers than ever that ask us to show them a Business Case in brand that they may not be familiar with, yet something that delivers the function they are looking for and of course the value!

We belong to the National Luggage Dealers Association (NLDA), the largest group of Independent Specialty Store Luggage & Gift Retailers in the United States. All the members carry all the relevant brand name products. No doubt that drives our business, and the brands are recognized by our customer as soon as they walk into our stores. However, our customers are looking for selection, and in many circumastances are receptive to looking at brands they are not familiar with, providing the product is feature rich and competitively priced.

In this business environment, our Association recognized the opportunity to develop a brand that was driven by value and function. In most instances, the consumer is completely unaware of the brand. After all, it takes years of marketing and advertising for any brand to become well established and familiar to the consumer. The Mosaic™ Business Case Collection may be new to many of our customers, yet the features and benefits make this product a top choice!

What makes the product unique is the fact that the inspiration and product features, indirectly come from you the consumer. The Association has regular brainstorming sessions to get feedback from their member stores, and each of the members relay product features that their individual customers expect. The bottom line is that no one understands the customer’s needs better than the customer themselves. For instance, many business travelers need dedicated space in their briefcase for a smart phone, MP3 player, reading glasses, pens, business cards, keys, airline ticket, chargers, cables, and most importantly to protect their laptop computer. In fact, the NLDA even created the Express Scan™ feature in many of the business briefs. In summary this feature allows the airline passenger to pass through airport security without being required to remove the computer from their briefcase when passing it through the x-ray machine. This creative feature will be discussed in much further detail in my article titled Express Scan™ Computer Briefs.

Customer feedback, along with the process of gathering the demographic profile of the target customer is the reason that the Mosaic™ Briefcase & Computer Cases are so well received. The Association hired a graphic designer to develop a cutting-edge design that has mass appeal to the business traveler. The hardware was custom created and gives each product a distinct personality. Only the finest leather is used, and once the customer puts the supple leather in their hand…it is impossible to set down. Upon evaluating the intelligent features and design practicality, you will surely agree that there are no comparable products in the market place.
