The Wedding Ring - A Symbol of Marriage

The wedding band is both beautiful and symbolic. I hope you will enjoy this look at wedding rings - their symbolism and meaning - through my original poetry.

Also, if you are looking to purchase a wedding ring or a wedding ring set, I have selected a few for you to look at.

These Golden Rings

These golden rings that we exchange

Are symbolic of our deepest love

Through situations that will range

From silly spats to things we're not proud of

But hand in hand we will meet

What the future throws our way

For we each the other complete

Like the circled golden bands portray

Band of Silver, Band of Gold

A Wedding Vow

(Officiate says)

Band of silver, band of gold

Two rings fused into one

The metals bespeak a beauty of old

And each sparkles in this holy sun

Two such rings we have on cloth

One for a bride and one for her groom

Inscribed "I Love You", meaning troth

Marking this love in full bloom

(Groom recites)

I thread this ring on your fourth finger

My touch on your skin forever to linger

(Bride recites)

On your fourth finger I thread this ring

I am now your wife, my heart does sing

A Ring for the Bride

A ring for the Bride

And maybe her Man

Will announce their new status

Throughout the Land

He Gave Me This Band of Gold

He gave me this band of gold

That I have worn for years

Of course I would never have it sold

And losing it would cause countless tears

He gave me this ring that I wear still

Like part of my flesh upon my hand

It marks me as wife of my own will

This simple golden wedding band

Gold Wedding Ring Sets for Him and Her

Many wedding ceremonies include the "Double Ring Ceremony" which is the exchange of two rings. One is given from the Bride to the Groom. The other is given from the Groom to the Bride. If you purchase the two rings as a set, then, aside from size, the bride's ring with be the same as the groom's ring.

Consider inscribing your wedding rings with "Love" followed by your husband's/wife's name
