What makes a Coach purse authentic?

Is it real Coach or a fake, knockoff bag?

Because Coach is such a popular handbag there are many fraudulent sellers. Don't be fooled by counterfeit bags. There are unique details that every handbag must include specifically the serial number in later years. Please be aware that there are older series of vintage bags that don't have the number, if authenticity is important to you do your research on the particular style and series of vintage bag. As of 2014, you can call Coach at 888-262-6224 to verify the number.

Newer Coach bags are manufactured in China while vintage bags were made in many other countries including: Italy, Mexico, Turkey, India, Vietnam and the United States. Does your purchase have a registered serial number and an authenticity tag?

Pink Coach Purses

Pink Coach crossbody purses are equally as popular with young girls, tweens and women of all ages. And who wouldn't want something rosy for a Valentine's Day, birthday or holiday gift?

The Coach brand is a favorite designer purse, clothing and accessory company. The classic style of the C signature handbag pictured has been popular with women around the world for at least 70 years. Did you know that this was one of the very first handbag companies? The Coach Company was founded in 1941 according to the company website.

Nowadays, handbag designers offer purses in every color imaginable and the styles have really changed since I bought my first hobo bag (now considered a vintage black leather bag.) And yes pink purses are popular with tweens and teens who love the brand. Consider the various shades of pink including Mulberry, Magenta, Peony, Pink, and more!

What's a wristlet?

A wristlet is a small purse that can be used by women who don't want to carry a large bag or tote. Most often wristlets are popular with teens because they don't carry a lot in a purse. Usually these small purses have enough space for a lipstick or lip gloss, an identification card, a credit card and or cash. They are also relatively inexpensive compared to purses or large handbags so one option for a younger girl who wants a pink purse...check out wristlets!

Your first purse

Your first purse? Do you remember yours? Mine was for my First Holy Communion and it was white plastic box purse accented with silk white flowers with a silver clasp. Even though that was many, many years ago, I remember it well because it made me feel very grownup to have this purse. Most likely I didn't carry very much in it other than a lip gloss and a prayer book but it was a special gift from my Godmother.

Today, ten year old girls would rather have something much more stylish so when my Goddaughter asked for a pink Coach purse for her birthday I set about looking for one that would feel special to her.

Her First Purse

I was never a fan of the color pink as a little girl...most purses for little girls are PINK.

Lately I love the look of pink especially when it is used as an accent color....see the leather strip running up the bag or accenting a printed canvas handbag. And of course if you really love the look of the rosy hue there are handbags, totes, wallets and purses that are 100% in beautiful shades of color. Pretty for young girls and gorgeous for women.

What makes a good handbag?

I have a handful of purses and all of them are Coach. Why?

Quality, taste, good craftsmanship and a commitment to the brand. I'm not a huge fan of designer clothes or accessories but this company has always represented their brand well, in my opinion.

Details are important when you are buying a handbag, will the design last through different eras? My black vintage bag has been stylish for more than forty years. How many handbag companies can say that?

Do you have a pink bag in your collection?

I have a Coach purse from the early 1980s but it's not pink. I do have a pair of Coach shoes that are pink and a few other bright colors. Coach may be expensive but it is worth the money. My Coach purse is 30 years old and still looks great. Thank you for a wonderful article. I'm off to do some shopping.

I love pink purses, not because I use them, but because I have a daughter who does. She is really into the color pink for several years now. She owns so many pink items in her wardrobe I don't know how she picks out what to wear. Good work on this lens about pink Coach purses.

Yes, I do have a pink purse my sister gave me for my B-Day a few years ago. I've had it on display on the top of my bookshelf, but never wore it cuz it's glass. It is pretty, full size and original.
