Plus Size High Waisted Panties

Updated on May 21, 2018

Being large size myself, I feel qualified to choose appropriate clothes, not always easy to find, for other generously proportioned people

Why is it nigh-on impossible to buy glamorous high wasted large size panties (we call them pants or knickers in England where I come from)?

  • I'm old
  • I'm fat
  • I like pretty clothes just like everyone else and I do not want to be assigned to the scrap-heap through the inadvertence of clothes producers

These print cotton panties were about the most attractive high-wasted pants I could find. And I do think they look all right, but even they are called Comfort Choice Women's Plus Size Panties, Cotton 5-Pack which I don't find very "comforting"at all. And where's the lace, where's the glamour? Being tubby and in the last quartile of my life doesn't mean I don't want to be a bit cheeky, wild, or even a bit abandoned as I hobble around - I'm not dead yet, you know!

Ladies: I'm afraid you'll be out of luck if you were hoping for something more lacy or frilly, but still adequate enough to cover your navel. It doesn't appear to exist. So, it's lace and an exposed stomach, or cotton and a modestly veiled belly. Take your pick.

Lingerie Manufacturers and stockists:

There is a message here for you - I have discovered a new sales niche for you. Why haven't you jumped at this lucrative selling opportunity years ago?

We are bombarded in the media with facts about obesity - how it's on the increase, how in the UK and USA between one third and one half of people are obese. So why doesn't the bombardment filter down to the right kind of underwear which looks good and hides (or at least embellishes or camouflages) our fat bits?

There is this gaping hole in the market.

Why is it so difficult to find lacy panties which cover my belly-button - Is that too much to expect? It would seem so, because I didn't find any at all when I searched high-wasted ones on Google.

Take this poll and see what everyone feels about the subject of high waist panties:

Would you like to wear pretty panties like our slimmer sisters?

See results

Do leave a comment here- what are your thoughts about plus size panties? - I love to hear from people

I just gave up on underwear entirely. It's just more dirty laundry to do. I've gone commando and I love it.

I think it all started in Hawaii when I got used to wearing a swim suit under a muumuu. That and flip flop sandals are all the water loving Hawaiians ever need to wear!

Interesting Hub. I agree with all you said. I'm tiny only 7 stone, 5ft 2ins in height, but I still can't find a nice fitting high waisted panty. If I try to pull them up to my waist they are too tight in the crutch area and irritate me all day.

It would be nice if us older ladies had pretty nice fitting panties.

I'm all about comfort. I don't care how they look.

@Ibidii: Thank you so much for all your support. So much nightwear is spoilt by having silly slogans or baby pictures printed on the front

@Wednesday-Elf: How about every tweeting something with hashtag manufacturers? That's what I've just done: #manufacturers

The market does seem limited if you are no longer at the slim & youthful stage. All us 'oldies', but still 'goodies' should rise up and complain to manufacturers everywhere! :)

I have a t-shirt that is long to the knees I use for a nightgown. I like the one you have here. It's a good price at $21.00. The panties are cute what I could see online. I agree it is so difficult to find pretty lacy underthings and clothes that look good for us larger girls. Great review!

Nice cotton panties in pretty colors for plus sized women! I wonder if you can find cotton flannel nightgowns that come all the way to the floor? Or summer, all cotton, sleeveless nightgowns that come all the way to the floor?
