Prima Donna Bras for the full figured woman

Updated on August 16, 2013

Just because one is full figured doesn't mean one has to be dowdy.

I've been a full figured girl ever since I came out of my mother's womb - I was just destined to be larger than life in many ways. But, just because I'm full figured doesn't mean that I don't like pretty lingerie like Prima Donna bras. You won't find these beautiful bras at Walmart, Target, or Kohl's department stores. I was introduced to Prima Donna bras at Sylene's, one of DCs premier lingerie stores for every size woman.

Prima Donna bras don't come cheap but they're worth every penny if you ask me. With good care, a Prima Donna bra will last for at least 3 years - much longer than cheaper bras. And, Prima Donna make one feel like, well, a prima donna - just like I am! And, most Prima Donna bras go all the way up to cup size H so there should be a bra to fit everybody.

I own 5 different Prima Donna bras for the full figured woman and stand by their quality. Come along and find out what makes these bras a cut above the breast (sorry, couldn't refuse...).

Come read my accompanying article: Sexy underwear for the full figured woman.

My favorite Prima Donna bra - PrimaDonna Deauville Full Cup Underwire Bra

I have this Prima Donna bra in 4 different colors and have loved them for 3 full years. That's the same bra in black above - a beautiful addition to any woman's wardrobe.

Sizes of this Prima Donna underwire bra range from 34C to 44H with every size in between usually available. I love the lacy look and feel but this is not the Prima Donna bra if you're going to wear it under a smooth t-shirt or blouse. You need a smooth cupped bra for that kind of outerwear.

Some ways to make your Prima Donna bras last longer

When you invest a substantial amount of money in your Prima Donna bras, you expect them to last longer than a cheaper brazier, as well you should. Here's some ways that you can ensure your bras' longevity - a Prima Donna bra should last at least 2 years.

  1. Only wear each PrimaDonna bra for 2 days in a row. The elastic in bras has a "memory" so wearing the same bra more than 2 days in a row won't allow the elastic to snap back to where it should be. Rotate your Prima Donna bras, and you'll be wearing them for many years.
  2. Hand wash your bras in cold water only. Now, this is a good theory, but I am not a hand washer! I wash my PrimaDonna bras in my front loading washing machine on a cold delicate cycle.
  3. Never place a bra in the dryer!. This goes for any bra, not just your expensive Prima Donna bras. Bras will last a significant amount of time if you never heat dry them. in fact, they should be dried lying flat, not hanging from a strap (this can stretch the strap elastic and ruin a good bra eventually).
  4. Buy the correct size bra. Studies show that 7 out of 10 women buy the wrong bra size. I suggest going into a good lingerie shop once every two years to get a professional bra fitting. Wearing a bra that is too small will not only be uncomfortable but will stretch the bra out in no time.

Some items to help you maintain your Prima Donna bras

As mentioned above, I do not hand wash my PrimaDonna bras - instead, I place them in a mesh bag on the cold water, delicate cycle in my washing machine. I usually use a soap especially meant to wash these delicate undergarments like some of those below.

The Prima Donna Madison Underwire Bra

I have two of these Madison Underwire Bras in different colors and styles - one is cut down lower so that i can wear it with a deeper v-neck and the other is more of a full coverage which is perfect underneath a sweater. Both are equally comfortable and can be worn for without any discomfort for many hours. The Prima Donna Madison bra comes in a soft cup as well as underwire.

Prima Donna panties

Like the Prima Donna bras, the PrimaDonna panties will set you back more than regular panties but, with the right care, they will laster. The below are among my favorites.

The PrimaDonna Menton Full Cup Underwire Bra

This is another of my Prima Donna go-to bras. I love that the straps have a little bit of flair to them so I don't really mind if they show under a skinny strapped top. I have both the full coverage and the plunge style of this Prima Donna bra.

The Prima Donna Spacer Bra - This name cracks me up

I'm one of those women who don't like their puppies in the same crate so this Prima Donna bra lifts and separates - just the way I like them to be (and, they even stay put!). If you're a fan of deep cleavage though, this is not the bra for you!

Prima Donna Strapless Bras

I've tried lots of strapless bras but, with hooters my size, hardly any bra is sturdy enough to "hold 'em" rather than "fold 'em." So, when I wandered into a good lingerie store and found these Prima Donna strapless bras, I was in heaven.

I've always rued the fact that i was a large woman (period) but it took me about 50 years to accept that being a large woman with large tatas was not the end of the world.

Please leave me comments so I know you visited.

Got boobs? - I sure do...

Being a large woman "with large tatas" is actually pretty fun once you embrace it, right? Unless you're bra shopping. I bet a lot of diets start with bra shopping. I haven't tried Prima Donna bras, but I'm curious now. I've been using Cacique, but they can be hard to find here.

This is a great article! We know how difficult it is to discover a bra that actually fits, and that looks great...but it looks like you have found your match!

Ooh! I've been looking for a new bra, and most of the full figured ones are so lame. Even Lane Bryant bras are totally unappealing to me. So, I'll definitely check out Prima Donna. Thanks for the tip!

I guess I should quit buying cheap Wal-Mart bras. It is so hard to get comfortable when you are busty. I'll quit drying them in the dryer too. Very informative (and fun to read).

I was a lovely c cup b4 children, After having children and even losing weight after the last child I am left with DD :(. I am like you I don't like my girls in the same basket either, however I can't stand an underwire bra whilst working - I garden for a living. Do you have any bras for DD that don't have underwire. By the way love the lens and the little funny comments.
