Snake Bite Proof Hunting Boots - Chippewa Boots
Snake Bite Proof Hunting Boots
After coming across two rattle snakes and one cottonmouth in one day of hunting, I got to thinking that it was pretty stupid of me to be out in the woods without any real snake bite protection. After I made it home that day, I went looking for the best snake bite proof boots for hunting that I could find.
There are over 600 venomous snake speciese in the world, and if you like being in the great outdoors, you may want to look into finding a good pair of Snake Proof Boots.
America is a beautiful country. It is slap full of national parks, trails, mountains, and water ways that are free to navigate and explore. Not to mention, there is some of the best hunting and fishing known to man right here in the lower 48.
A University of Florida study reveals that 85 percent of unprovoked bites occur below the knee.
The funny thing is, people often forget that when they are out tromping through all of this beautiful wilderness, they are not alone. That is why it is always a good idea to have on a pair of snake bite proof boots when out hunting or hiking.
Swamp and marsh hunting can be very adventurous, but it can also be very dangerous if you do not have the right gear on.
Respect your surroundings and the critters that call it home with a pair of waterproof and snake proof hunting boots.
Some of God's most beautiful, and most dangerous, critters are sharing those wide-open spaces with us. This country is snake country. That is why, when I go out into the palm fronds and pine trees here in North Florida, I put on some snake bite protection.
Generally, I only wear a pair of snake proof boots, and for the most part, that is all I need. I have no desire to pick up or play with any of the little vipers I see, so I do not bother wearing any snake proof gloves.
But I must admit, I am thinking about getting a pair for work. I often have to clear out limb and branch piles on the job. Those piles of old branches and limbs are like a snakes kitchen. It is where the food is and snakes love to hide in the those piles.

Ladies Snake Proof Boots
Ladies, I hate to tell you this, but you are very limited in your Ladies Snake Proof Boots selection. There are only a handful of anti snake bite boots for women on the market, so for those of you who like to shop, this is going to be a short trip.
I would like to point out that this is a funny turn of events. When I go to a department store to shop with my wife, about three fourths of the store is for women. Then there is another 15% of the store that is gender neutral, and when us guys find our meager 10% of the store, half of that is kid stuff.
I'm not saying it's right, but when you look at hunting and outdoor products, 95% of that is designed for men. So I apologize in advance for your slim pickens.
I can tell you this though, when it comes to snake boots for women, your best bet is probably going to be these here Chippewa women's snake boots.
From what I hear, they are very comfortable and ride a just little bit lower than other snake boots.
One of the major complaints I have heard about other boots is that they tend to ride a bit too high and dig into the back of your knee as you walk. These are pretty form fitting, just a smidgen shorter, and do not to do that.
Not to mention, they are kind of sexy...

Snake Boots vs. Regular Boots
Here is a question for you... Can a snake bite through leather boots? I'm talking about your regular leather cowboy boots, or the typical work boot, that is not rated for snake protection?
In truth, it depends on the length of the fang biting it and the thickness of the boot being bit. Also, where the snake lands the bite could affect the penetration rate. But the short answer to that question is: Yes. A snake can bite through leather boots.
Now you can get the best of both worlds with these Rocky Men's 15" Long Range Side Zipper Waterproof and Snakeproof Boots.
They have the square toe cowboy boot look with work boot comfort. Plus, they make these Rocky snake boots waterproof so you can wear them for just about any outdoor occasion. What more could you ask for?
I hear you... A lower price. They do run about $200.00. But do you want to trust your life to a pair of cheap snakeproof boots? I know that I wouldn't.
If you are looking for the best snake proof boots for hunting, keep in mind that a form fitting pair will help keep the noise down. A loose pair of boots rub and slap your calves as you walk. It may not be loud, but if you are tracking, you may as well be banging trash can lids together as you walk.
