Welcome Back Kate!

Kate Steps Out Post Baby George

We were all glad to see Kate return to public life today, even if only briefly, dressed in Pied a Terre Imperia wedges, Zara blouse, black skinnies and a recycled Ralph Lauren blazer, Kate appeared looking relaxed and as fabulously slim as ever.

Fashion fabulous Kate presented new baby Prince George wearing Jenny Packham, reminiscent of Dianna on these same steps with Prince William all those years ago.

The silky, crepe de chine, dusty blue easy fit dress was a bespoke piece designed for the event. You can't buy it. Nonetheless the website crashed almost immediately after Kate's appearance on the hospital steps.

Top 10 Tips to Catch a Prince

Kate Middleton Style

  1. Identify your neighbourhood prince. Usually found captaining everything from the football to the debate team. Submit Facebook friend request. Commence stalking.
  2. Greet him with an "Err hair lair." This is Sloane Ranger speak. To translate, say 3 times quickly.
  3. Lose some weight. Chill girls. I just said some. It can't hurt. You know I'm right.
  4. Make sure he harbors aspirations of obtaining a helicopter license.

Keen to impress Kate, Prince William once notoriously "borrowed" a helicopter from the Royal Air Force landing it in the Middleton's backyard, whilst the family watched on with delight.

  5. Buy a Burberry jacket. Fake is fine. Refer "How to Spot a Sloane" section. Anyway, have you seen those prices?
  6. Understand the "Importance of Navy Blue".
  7. Refer to self as "one". Practice saying, "One shall" and "one shan't".
  8. Practice, practice, practice, the luxuriant hair toss.
  9. Read a few of those book thingies.
  10. Do nothing; I say NOTHING, like Snookie. We all love her, but don't go there. No fake tans please.

The Landing Spot

The Middleton family home is 16 miles away from RAF Odiham. Prince William landed the helicopter just yards from the garden. Rather dashing don't you think?.

Kate Middleton Trench Coats - Kate Middleton in Burberry Trench Coat.

Don't you just love this coat? I do. It's my all time favourite, flirty, fun and timeless. I tried a $1600 Burberry trench coat on once, years ago. A sublime moment I've never forgotten. I want one before I die. The delicate stitching combined with an amazing cut. Yesss! I instantly appeared six inches taller and five kilos lighter. How do they do that?

Don't want to spend the big bucks? Me either. High Street brands do a fab, affordable type as well.

Try a lightweight fabric for Spring or rainy days and a wool blend for chilly Winter days.

Once this item is in your wardrobe it's hardly ever on the hook. A good quality coat in this style will simply last forever. And you can't ask for more than that.

Modern day Sloanes doing lunch in London

Sloane Ranger: A term coined in the Eighties to describe the posh crowd that generally hang out on Chelsea's King's Road, which begins at Sloane Square.

They were typically known for a rather fussy, preppy style such as pashmina shawls, pearls and Alice bands (pre-marriage Princess Di), but today's "Sloanes" are more Prada than Peter Jones (middle-of-the-road department store on Sloane Square).

I'd love to have my fittings from her very own designer. I could find similar clothing anywhere, but the fitting is simply not the same. Or maybe, it's just her impeccable figure and poise. I really like her.
