If you are looking for a way to remove scars, blemishes, or stretch marks, then Bio-Oil might be right for you. Bio-Oil is a non-greasy oil that fades spots, scratches, and stretch marks when being used correctly. In some cases, it also makes them disappear completely.

Warning: Bio-Oil should not be used on open wounds, scars that haven’t healed yet, or irritated skin. Besides this, you should always test how your skin reacts to Bio-Oil before using it. Rub Bio-Oil on the inside of your wrist and leave it there for 24 hours. And see how your skin reacts to it. If you have a bad reaction, you should not use Bio-Oil.

Applying Bio-Oil

You should apply Bio-Oil twice a day. To get the best results, you should use it in the morning and the evening.

Face

After you’ve washed your face, you should apply Bio-Oil. Bio-Oil gets absorbed quickly by any skin type. This is a plus as it doesn’t leave your skin oily. Therefore, you can immediately apply a cream, gel, or make-up on your face after using Bio-Oil. Bio-Oil should be applied directly on the scars, blemishes, or stretch marks that you want to disappear. You can apply Bio-Oil with a cotton swab or with your fingers. If you decide to use your fingers, ensure that your fingers are clean! When using Bio-Oil, make sure that you don’t use too much at a time. Using a lot of Bio-Oil doesn’t make it work better, nor does it give you a faster result.

Body

If you are using Bio-Oil on your body, it would be best to apply it with your fingers. Ensure that the area where you apply the Bio-Oil onto is clean and dry. After you’ve applied the Bio-Oil, you can use body lotion, body oil, or body butter as usual.

Scars, Blemishes ,and Stretch Marks

Scars

When using Bio-Oil, the correct way it can fade your scars. The scars will get lighter and lighter over time until they can’t become any lighter. How fair your scars will get varies. It varies not only per person but also per scar that you have. You might use Bio-Oil on two scars on your body simultaneously, and one of them might get lighter than the other. One of the elements that play a part in this is how long you have the scar. If it’s a fresh scar, then the chances of it becoming lighter are more significant than if you have had the scar for years. This doesn’t mean that you should not use Bio-Oil on older scars. It just means that it might take a little longer, and the results might not be as good as they would be on a fresh scar.

Blemishes

Bio-Oil works very well on blemishes. When using Bio-Oil on your blemishes, you will notice that they start to fade in no time. And most of them even disappear entirely.

Stretch Marks

Not only does Bio-Oil fade your stretch marks, but it also prevents new stretch marks from forming. Therefore, it would be best to start using Bio-Oil when the first stretch marks appear immediately. Doing this can prevent other stretch marks from forming, which is better than using Bio-Oil on them after they occur. You can also use Bio-Oil to make your stretch marks fade/disappear when you’re pregnant. And, of course, to prevent getting more stretch marks.

Warning: using Bio-Oil during pregnancy is allowed from the second trimester.

Results

It will take time before it fades/disappears. It will take time before it fades/disappears; whether it is a scar, blemish, or stretch mark, it will take time before it fades/disappears. Therefore, you have to be patient when using Bio-Oil. Besides being patient, you should also be consistent. If you aren’t consistent with the usage of Bio-Oil, the results may be disappointing. Try using Bio-Oil for at least three months to see results.

You should realize that using Bio-Oil to lighten your scars, blemishes, or stretch marks does not mean that it will completely wipe them away. There will be a point where it is not possible for your scar, blemish, or stretch mark to get lighter as it will stop reacting to Bio-Oil after a while—like mentioned before, this differs for each scar, blemish, and stretch mark and can happen at any given moment. This doesn’t mean that Bio-Oil can’t completely wipe away a scar, blemish, or stretch mark as this is possible. There is just no guarantee that this will happen to all of your scars, blemishes, and stretch marks.

Personal note: I use Bio-Oil whenever I get a blemish and it works really well. I would recommend you to try a small bottle of Bio-Oil first to see if you like the results.
